Every snowflake is unique, different, and beautiful in its own way… I remember a frosty, snowy night in December when I lived in Wyoming. We were walking up to the dining hall for a warm mug of hot chocolate and marshmallows bundled up with cheeks rosy from the frostiness of the night.
“Wow this is amazing!” Steen said. She showed me her gloves that were covered with tiny snowflakes. I expected your typical white, fluffy,
Popsicle drops that melted to the touch, but these delicate snowflakes each had a beautifully intricate design and looked like they had been painted. I couldn’t believe it! It was the first time that I had seen such perfect snowflakes.
As individuals we are a lot like snowflakes. Each of us is intricately designed, beautiful, and unique. Our lives are delicate, but we are also strong and resilient and when we come together we can form a powerful storm. One snowflake alone cannot be seen from a distance and may quickly melt, but when a bunch of snowflakes fall together, they can cover an entire mountain.
Because each is unique and beautiful, both snowflakes and people, I don’t think we should compare ourselves to each other.
Okay I guess I was feeling a little philosophical this mid-may morning. Can you tell? So much that I had to bring up snowflakes in the middle of spring.
Peace, joy, and blessings,
