Friends for All Seasons

We have friends who are around for the good times and friends who stick with us through the struggles.  If we are blessed we have friends who are around for all seasons.

There are those friends who teach us life lessons.  Friends who weigh us down… Spiritually we become skeptical.  Mentally we develop blocks.  And physically we feel heavier and gain weight in increments of 10 lbs in a short amount of time.  It can feel discouraging and as if the time and energy spent on that relationship was a waste, but if we learn to overcome those challenges; it can be a challenge that made us better.  Often times these relationships can become too heavy and toxic for our well-being so we end up learning to love them from a distance or cutting ties completely.  This can be a painful process especially if the person meant a lot to us at one point in time.

Then we have those angels who enter our life.  Spiritually we are supported and inspired.  Mentally we discuss and overcome those mental blocks.  And physically we are motivated to become the BEST versions of ourselves.  These people challenge, uplift, and inspire us.  Before long we are convinced that we can take on the world and tackle ANY challenge and succeed.  They celebrate the good times with you.  Offer a shoulder to cry on through life’s storms.  Patiently listen to your stories.  And always know how to push your limits or offer words of wisdom in those defining moments.  Together you go on grand adventures and discover strengths in each other that might have otherwise been undiscovered.  These are the people worth keeping around.

I believe that we are all gifts to each other and we can learn valuable lessons from everyone –our friends and enemies.  When it all comes down to it, we get to choose who we spend our time with.  We can have Friends for all Seasons.
