Workout and Word of the Day

I have decided to start small…  With at-home workouts that do not require equipment.  Here is what I did today:

  • 150 Jumping Jacks
  • 50 Crunches
  • 20 Tricep Dips
  • 15 Squats
  • 20 Lunges (each leg)
  • 70 Russian Twists
  • 20 Standing Calf Raises
  • 15 Push-ups
  • 30 Second Plank
  • 10 Split lunges.

It may not be a lot, but honey, it’s a start!!!

Today’s Word of the Day is:

hortatory- adj. urging to some course of conduct or action; exhorting; encouraging: a hortatory speech.

The coach gave a hortatory speech before the game that inspired all the athletes to perform at their best.

So there you have it, a workout AND a word of the day!  I am not sure how often I will use the word “hortatory” in my everyday life, but it is a nice addition to my toolbox.  Because you never know when you’ll need a new word to spice things up!

  1. Hortatory… gosh, I can’t even think of another sentence in which to use it, lol! But if I ever run across it, hopefully I’ll remember what it means! I think you did great on the workout! And don’t kid yourself, it actually is a lot… 70 Russian twists? 150 Jumping Jacks? That’s a lot! Well done!
