Tuesday’s Workout and Word of the Day

IMG_6017

This was apparently my fortune after last night’s dinner.  Last night, I must have needed my sleep because I slept until the very last minute, then rushed out the door.  I did not get to begin my day with a workout like I did on Monday, but I made sure that I got my workout in when I got home from work.  I even mustered up the courage to go to my college’s gym and paid the $2 for a parking pass.  I got on the elliptical, but after 20 minutes the lights flickered and the power was out.  I kept going until they kicked us out.  It was not the whole 45 minutes that I had planned, but it was something.

Here’s today’s workout:

  • 80 Jumping Jacks
  • 50 Vertical Leg Crunches
  • 20 Sit-ups
  • 10 Tricep Dips
  • 20 Squats
  • 10 Side Lunges (each leg)
  • 15 Leg Lifts
  • 50 Bicycles
  • 15 Wall Push-ups
  • 40 Russian Twists

Word of the Day:

panglossian- adj.  characterized by extreme optimism, especially in the face of unrelieved hardship or adversity.

She carried herself with such a panglossian demeanor that no one ever knew that she was hiding behind a smile.

Panglossian is derived from the name of a character in Voltaire’s Candide, Dr.Pangloss, who believes that “all is for the best in the best of all possibleworlds.”

I made the most of my full day today.  I was not as organized as I was yesterday, but I still had a productive day.  Tonight I have had the luxury of taking a hot bath with a cup of tea.

How was your Tuesday?  What was the best thing that happened to you?

Good night and Sweet Dreams,

Alana xoxoxo
