Chocolate Chip Cookies for Breakfast

Last night I made a giant batch of my favorite chocolate-chip cookies to bring to our Thanksgiving meal.  It is finally time for me to share the recipe.  The cornflakes are a must!  I hope you will enjoy it!  These cookies are fun to make and even more fun to eat!  So good that I might have eaten some chocolate chip cookies for breakfast this morning…  And I would do it again given the chance!

  • 3-1/2 cups flour
  • 3 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 1 block butter
  • 1 block margarine
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1TBSP vanilla
  • 3/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1-1/2 cups cornflakes
  • 1 cup quick oats
  • 1- 12 oz. pkg semi-sweet chocolate chips

Mix together dry ingredients.

Beat butter, margarine, sugars, eggs, milk in mixing bowl until well-blended.

Stir in the four mixture alternately with oil until mixture is thoroughly mixed.

Stir in corn flakes, oats, and chocolate-chips.

Drop by heaping teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets, 2 inches apart.

Bake at 350 degrees F for about 12 minutes.  Makes about 100 cookies.

No electric-mixer necessary!  I used a fork then a wooden spoon.
Wrapped and ready to go!!!

If you don’t have a fancy serving platter you can cover a paper plate with aluminum foil then wrap it with colored plastic wrap for extra class!

I hope you enjoy this recipe!  Try it out and let me know what you think.  Leave me any comments, questions, suggestions, or thoughts.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Peace, Love, and Blessings Always,

Alana  xoxoxo.

  1. The comedian Elaine Boosler once commented she made light years of progress in gender relations when she realized men don’t eat candy for breakfast. Chocolate chip cookies and leftover pizza, however, make the perfect morning meal for the college student on the go.

    1. Hahaha! Yes, it’s not advisable to eat sweets and treats for breakfast often. I am a college student on the go so I guess I can justify it every now and then :). Thanks for stopping by!

  2. Chocolate Chip Cookies for breakfast is my kind of breakfast. I love this recipe and the amazing quantity it makes. Sorry for this question, but what would ‘a block; of butter/marg be? 500 grams?
Hoping to hear from you soon. Thanks 🙂 x

    1. Hi Lynne!
I hope you will enjoy the recipe. One stick of butter is considered 1/2 cup so I think it would be about 115 grams for one stick. Hopefully that’s right!

      1. Hi Alana, thank you. I have heard of ‘a stick’ of butter so was confused with I read ‘a block’ lol. Thanks a ton for getting back to me and I know we are going to LOVE this recipe. 🙂 ❤
