Workout and Word of the Day #6


I haven’t solved my Java problem yet, but I will dedicate tomorrow to figuring it out and by my next post tomorrow evening I will have it solved.  Usually when I cannot figure something out I ask for help pretty early in the process especially when it comes to computers.  In the past, I have always seen myself in the position of “I have no clue how to do this; I will ask someone who knows what they’re doing to help me.”

Christopher has been challenging me to learn how to problem solve myself and figure out how to research my answers online…  And here I thought I had a go-to computer person since my man is a computer-guy, but he does have a very valid point.  I need to be able to problem-solve and understand concepts on my own because he will not always be there to answer my questions.  Sometimes I wonder if I am cut out for this computer-science business, it is challenging, but I will not give up.  I just have to keep on learning.

Today I ended my day with Mixxedfit.  I will probably be doing Mixxedfit pretty consistently.  It brings me so much joy and now that I am in less pain, I can move better and push myself even more.  I love Mixxedfit and all that it stands for.  The founder, Lori Chung is so positive, inspiring, and down to earth.  I am also inspired by the other people who have done Mixxedfit consistently and have lost weight and grown stronger.  It is a Wonderful confidence-builder.  And we can ALL use a little more confidence in our everyday lives, right?  At the end of our workout we cooled down with one of my favorite India Arie songs “Videos.”

Today’s Workout of the Day:  Chest Day

  • 12 Dumbell Chest presses
  • 12 Push-ups
  • 12 Dumbell Chest Flys
  • 12 Push-ups
  • 12 Dumbell Chest presses
  • 12 Push-ups
  • 12 Dumbell Chest Flys
  • 12 Push-ups
  • 12 Dumbell Chest presses
  • 12 Push-ups
  • 12 Dumbell Chest Flys
  • 12 Push-ups

By the 3rd set I was definitely feeling it.  Those push-ups were challenging, but I made it ALL on my toes too.  I know that right now my workouts are really basic.  I will keep learning new exercises so that I can mix up the workouts.  Please add your favorite exercises as a comment below and I will feature them in my workout of the day!

I hope you had a good day today!  I am still feeling under the weather, but am hanging in there.  Last night I started reading a book about yoga.  I know that I would benefit greatly from adding Yoga to my daily life.  Also, this afternoon I was thinking about starting to swim again.  The tricky thing about swimming is fitting it in and swimming consistently.  Like I said before, there is so much that I want to do!  Also ahead, I will be investigating nutrition.  I know that there are some dietary changes that will help me feel better.

My bf is a computer wizard and he still challenges me (mostly because he is tired of people asking him for help) but also because he wants me to learn organically like he did 🙂 to this day I’ve asked him very few favors lol but I wish he would help me more because technology is overwhelming! Love your Chest day workout, will try it this weekend!
