Have you been feeling tired or exhausted lately?

Then it is time to DETOX!

I have been feeling all of the above and more.  I was dragging through my days, depending on coffee to get me through, and having trouble sleeping at night.  I also got hit pretty hard by that nasty flu bug that has been going around.  As a result it has been hard for me to focus and even more challenging more me to concentrate on my studies and retain any information.

I have known for a while that I need to make some changes I was just overwhelmed with where to start.  The start of this new year has given me inspiration and the energy I need to make some big changes.  The theme of my year is “Transform Your Life.”

I have been pondering the idea of doing some kind of cleanse or detox for awhile.  A little over a year ago I followed the Isagenix plan for several months which is a cleanse-based plan with products.  I got pretty good results, but the monthly products cost me a small fortune every month.  

I was thinking about going to GNC or my local Co-op to pick up a detox kit, but I think that I will just start small with a plan that is easily accessible and uses healthy foods that anyone can pick up from the grocery store.

Here’s My Plan:

  1. Follow Dr. Oz’s 3 Day Detox Cleanse.  http://www.doctoroz.com/article/dr-ozs-3-day-detox-cleanse-one-sheet
  2. Cut out all dairy products (except eggs).
  3. Exercise Consistently.
  4. Organize my life.

I like Dr. Oz’s 3 day plan because 3 days sounds do-able to me.  It is not fasting for 3 days or doing something super extreme.  The plan involves a breakfast, lunch, and dinner smoothie, multi-vitamin, probiotic, and omega-3 supplement, oh and green tea.  Another perk about the plan is that you end your day with a lavender detox bath!

Another thing that appeals to me is how organized the plan is.  Everything fits onto one sheet and it makes sense!  I also love that a grocery shopping list is included on this one-pager.

In addition to detoxing I am also going to start organizing my life.  I have been pretty sick and out of it lately and it shows in my surroundings.  Time for me to clean the kitchen, nix the clutter, and make our house into a home!

Today was my 1st day of the detox and so far I feel great!  I feel like I can actually do this, but it would be WAY better if you decide to detox with me too!

      1. Thanks! I’m training for a half at the end of March so I am trying to stay consistent. 🙂 Too bad we don’t live closer or we could work out together!

      2. Wow! That’s awesome that you are running a half-marathon in March. I admire that a lot. That’s one of my goals. I would love to run a half before I turn 30. Yes, I wish that we could train together :). Well, we can still share training tips and cheer each other on!!! xoxo.
