I woke up early again this morning and did another blogilates workout this time it was POP CARDIO: Summer Sweatfest!
It was a great way to start my day! Cassey Hou is so vibrant and full of energy. I am not accustomed to moving so vigorously first thing in the morning, but I think that it will be a good habit for me to start and continue.
I felt tired this morning, but am really enjoying my days at work. I really missed my students during winter break. This is the final stretch of the quarter because finals is already next week!!! I had fun reflecting on how far many of the students have come. One of the students in Life sports swore up and down that he hated basketball not too long ago and it was refreshing to watch him enjoy himself today. Every time I looked his direction he was making every shot. There were two kids in swim class who were fearful of the water back in September and now they are swimming laps which is a huge accomplishment for both of them. I feel blessed that I got to be a part of their journey. I am going to miss all those students when the new quarter begins.
I wanted to grab an earl grey tea during my morning break, but two of the teachers asked me to check off their backboarding skills. I had a good time and drank lots of lemon water.
After work I met with my friend Mica, but my stomach was really bothering me. It has been bothering me these past two days. It could be a few things. Either I have a little bug, my new multi-vitamin is not settling well, could it be the after effects of the 3 day detox I did? I didn’t really feel the affects when I was doing it? Or maybe it was the junk food I ate on Monday (combined with missing my workout), or it could be the new green tea I started drinking on Tuesday and Today. I will let you know if I discover the cause. Tomorrow I am going to bring a different tea with me to work. Hopefully I will feel better.
I did not use that as an excuse to get out of my workout! I went to 5:15 Mixxedfit Downtown and had a ball like I always do. I really was considering skipping the resistance training part of my workout, but I did it anyway.
Today’s Workout of the Day: BACK DAY!!!
- 12 Lat Pull-Downs
- 12 Seated Rows
- 12 Crunches on the Bosu reach up with opposite arm and opposite leg
Repeat 3 x’s!
- 12 Bent over barbell rows (both sides)
- 12 Upright rows
- 12 One-legged deadlifts with dumbell
I always work up a sweat with a good back workout!

Overall today was a good day. I do have to admit that I was discouraged by my reflection in the mirror. I look so out of shape and am definitely carrying extra weight. I have this fear that I will work super hard and will not lose the weight.
I am going to try not to think that way. I want to capitalize on the fact that I am strong and my body can do amazing things. It isn’t always easy though, when I don’t like what I see.
