Transform Your Life Project: Week 6

Happy Valentine’s Day, Everyone!  I hope you had a wonderful one and I want to thank ALL of you for being so sweet and supportive of me <3.  I love visiting your sites and reading your stories!  You all inspire me in so many ways!  

Today has been an easygoing day although I cried myself to sleep last night because sometimes long-distance relationships are a drag…  I am not upset about anything in particular; I just miss him and honestly it felt good to let it go and have a darn good cry…  A couple years ago when I 1st discovered acupuncture; my acupuncturist told me about an article he studied that talked about how our tears release different chemicals depending on if they are from sadness, anger, or happiness.  I don’t know how true that is, but it was comforting to know that it is not always bad to cry.  

It took me awhile to get going this morning and I felt so tired.  I was overwhelmed by my to-do list I think and stressed.  I finally decided to stop putting so much pressure on myself and to do my best to enjoy the weekend!  I started my day with a hot chocolate and a chocolate croissant. I was thinking about going to Zumba, but still felt overwhelmed and I did not want something that usually brings me joy to turn into a chore.  A few hours later I ordered Indian Food and brought my mom a dozen roses.  Then I picked up a little “red velvet blizzard” on the way home.  

I know that they say that all calories are not the same.  Calories from ice cream are far different than calories from greens.  And yes, today, I am way above my calorie recommendation and obviously the quality of my calories were not the best, but I am going to let it go for now.  Was it worth-it?  I don’t know, but it is what it is :).

Week 6 was a decent week.  I am thrilled that my headaches finally went away.  Maybe it was from giving up caffeine afterall.  That was enough for me to continue omitting caffeine from my life.  I don’t want to have headaches like that again anytime soon.  I know that I still need to improve my nutrition habits and I plan on getting serious about that this week.

My struggle to balance, full-time work, working out, and full-time school still continues.  I feel like I have the work and working out down better than ever before, but I need to shift my focus to school while still maintaining the other facets of my life.  It is possible, I know that everyone makes time for the things that are most important to them.  

 I planted the seeds for our garden this week and I feel like it is perfect timing because it symbolizes a fresh start/ new beginning.  This week I will be moving into a smaller room in our house so that that couple can move into the master suite.  I am sad about it.  I don’t want to give up my room and my space, but we are also trying to save money and having a house here and a place up north definitely adds to our expenses so having people rent a room in our home will make saving more possible.  I think this is another opportunity for me to practice letting go.  At least I am not going far and even if my room is smaller; I still have the rest of the house.  I have a lot to be grateful for and so much to look forward to!  I just need to keep my eyes on the prize!

Another fun fact about me is that I do everything better when I plan ahead so I am going to create a little plan right here and now.  I am currently on chapter 7 of my programming book.  There is a total of 22 chapters and I am going to get to chapter 16 by Tuesday evening.  This goal is going to take hard work, focus, and dedication, but I need to prove to myself that I can do it!

FEBRUARY:

Focus On Faith and Finances

Learn about faith. –I have been working on believing in myself.  I have also been studying the concept of faithfulness.
Count my blessings. -No matter how down I get; I always try to count my blessings to keep things in perspective.

JANUARY:

Build My Foundation

A Girls gotta get her beauty sleep!(this applies to you guys too!) -still struggling with getting to sleep at a decent time.  I am not going to give up on this one!
Eat Clean. -I was slacking this past week, but I plan on doing that 7 day challenge starting on Wednesday so that will help me hit the “reset button.”
Move Your Body! -I am still on a great track with my workouts!  Motivation has been a little challenging to come by this week, but I am NOT giving up!
Plan your track and track your plan (keep a food journal -DONE!
Create a Vision Board -still on my to-do list!
Do What you must. -Starting this ASAP!!!
Create Healthier Habits. -the time is NOW!!!

Can you believe that tomorrow is already the “half-way point” of this month?!?!  And February is a short month too!  Time keeps going no matter what we are doing.  Whether we are wasting time or seizing the day; time waits for no one!  Let’s make our time count!!!

  1. Yes, stay focused on the long-term and the prize. That will help you remember it’s all going to be worth it! I think a red velvet blizzard is a nice treat… it’s okay to splurge every now and again!! Hope you have a great week!! Good luck with your Tuesday goal… just don’t put too much pressure on yourself so as to add more stress to your life!! Xoxo
