Workout and Word of the Day #38

This morning I took 17 extra minutes of sleep.  I thought that I would have to give up breakfast in order to get to work on time, but I was able to fit everything in!  These days, my breakfasts have been consisting of: pineapple, grapes, and blueberries accompanied by my lemon-cayenne tea.  The fruit is refreshing and my tea wakes up my senses and gives me a nice boost of energy to kick-start my day!

In addition to fitting breakfast in, I also made the decision to swim between classes at work.  I surprised myself with how quickly I was able to slip into my swimsuit and assemble my gym bag.  I guess a later start to your day does not always have to mean that you’re off to a bad start 🙂

I am so glad that I have decided to start swimming at work.  Even though I don’t get a full hour in, it is a great way to start my day and get moving.  Immediately after swim class I have spin class so I get a nice little swim/bike action!  Not bad for a day’s work, right?!?!

Today’s Workout of the Day:Swim/Bike/Walk/Blogilates!!!

Swim Workout:

  • 500 Freestyle every 4th 25 backstroke
  • 400 Mixed Individual Medley kick/drill
  • 400 I.M 50 kick/ 25 drill/ 25 swim
  • 200 I.M.
  • 150 I.M

Total: 1650 (Swimmer’s Mile!)

Bike Workout:

  • 40 Minutes of spinning!!!

  • Today little Miss Ruby and I went for two walks and a total of 3.78 miles.  I am so glad we have each other.  She is the perfect walking buddy!!!

I started my pilates workouts with Cassey Ho’s “Intense Ab Burn PIIT” give it a try!!!

That ab burn workout was killer and had me more than warmed up and ready for this “8 min Abs & Obliques Workout!”  I want to work on sculpting my waist for a nice hourglass figure <3.

I am not ashamed to admit that my lower belly needs the MOST work.  This “Lower Belly Flattener” made me WORK!!!

I think one of the biggest reasons why I enjoy “Pop Pilates” so much is because Cassey is so upbeat, positive, and inspirational!  I am really working on being more positive myself and I want to surround myself with positive like-minded people.  Because I am so busy with life, my circle of friends has narrowed and I spend a lot less time being out and about.  I love the fact that we can find inspiration in the comfort of our own homes.  What a luxury!!!

Today’s Word of the Day is:

amaranthine- adjective

  1. unfading; everlasting: a woman of amaranthine loveliness
  2. of or like the amaranth
  3. of purplish-red color

I am overjoyed by the fact that I felt a lot more motivated overall today.  I think it was a conscious thing.  I have a habit of worrying and thinking about what could go wrong and stressing about problems that do not even exist.  I have been working on focusing on what I do want and how I want to feel and I think that my conscious efforts are helping!

This past weekend I RSVP’d for my cousin Emily’s wedding.  She is getting married in 78 days!  I am SO excited!!!  It has been years since I have seen my cousins and Guam family!  I am going to use this upcoming event as a fitness goal opportunity!  I want to look and feel my best by the time this wedding rolls around.  It will be early June and by then I think I will only have one week left of work (highschool).  And my college classes for Spring Quarter will also be wrapping up.  Christopher is going to be my date and we have already planned on getting all dressed up.  I can’t wait!!!  I better keep working out!!!

Another highlight of my day was spending the afternoon gardening.  I hated to admit that a couple of weeks ago our greenhouse got blown upside down by a strong wind and all of my beautiful seedlings/ plants ended up on a pile on the ground.  I was so devastated and didn’t think that they would survive.  I thought it was just time and money down the drain, but my sister and I were able to flip the damn greenhouse back over and anchor it down.  Last weekend, Christopher and I went to check on the remains and to my surprise!  Many of our plants survived!!!  This week I have been transplanting them into bigger containers!  I can’t wait to see what they will all become!  It feels a lot like spring!!!

What are your fitness goals?  Are you training for an event?  Getting married?  Going to a wedding?  Getting ready for Senior prom? Getting a bikini body for summer? I would love to hear about your goals!  We are approaching the end of March and this is the perfect time to start working towards your fitness goals!  Comment below to share your goals with me!!!!

It feels so great to be back.  I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s workout!!!

Goodnight my Dear Darling Friends!!!

Love, Joy, and Blessings Always,

  1. Glad you saved your seedlings! I wish I could swim well but I can only swim well enough to save my life lol my fitness goals are just to train my arms more, I am so weak it’s ridiculous 😂 PIIT sounded fun but I have so many things I’m working on I don’t think I could possibly add in more but Cassey’s always been one of my fave fitness ladies, hope you have fun following her program!

    1. Thanks! I am glad that they survived the fall. Thanks for sharing your goal with me. Swimming is a great upper body/arm workout. Let me know if you would ever like pointers. I can help :). How have you been? I love your new blog!
