Stop Sabotaging Yourself!

Why do we sabotage ourselves?!?!

  • Change is scary.
  • Change poses a huge threat to what is comfortable and familiar.
  • Change creates a new awareness and new perspective.

It can feel like you’re facing a death.

  • You either face the death of what you just learned you want.
  • Or you face the death of who you’ve been.  Now that you’re ready to become someone better.

On top of everything else it sparks the stress response…

It is so much easier to just go numb through:

  • Drugs
  • Alcohol
  • Work
  • Food Tv

You just want to keep the feelings down, but they keep coming back.

Going back to what you know and sabotaging your success seems like the better option because it feels like it is keeping you safe, but it also keeps you small.

It is as if you are using all of your energy to hang on to a pebble because if  that pebble dislodges; there is going to be a landslide.

“And then there’s that moment where the pain of where you are becomes greater than the fear of the unknown.  You’re standing at the edge ready to jump without the security of knowing that  there is anything to catch your fall.  In the sacred and deeply personal moment you make a decision.  The risks are great but the rewards could be so much greater.”

And then you get to work!

“Sure, the self-doubt may still be there.  You still want to sabotage yourself, but you push through it anyways because you realize that you’re meant to do more….  You have a message and you can’t share it if you’re standing still.”
