This is yesterday’s workout, but I don’t want to miss out on an opportunity to share one of my workouts with you! I have been waking up with Christopher for the past 3 days and it has been wonderful to get an early start.
Many times, I don’t feel like it; then I remember that “Stop Sabotaging Yourself” Ted Talk where Debi Sibler says:
“You’re NEVER going to feel like it so get out of bed, get uncomfortable, and make things happen!”
That is so inspirational to me and nothing could be closer to the truth. Often times we avoid doing things that need to be done and will help us to stretch beyond our comfort zones and grow.
“The truth is that the pain of sabotaging myself and holding on to my old ways has become too great so I am letting go so that I can grow!”
Yesterday’s Workout of the Day: Run, Walk with Ruby, and Arm Day!!!
Yesterday morning I was tired and browsing through blogs. When I find a blog that is especially inspiring and interesting I usually will go back into the history and read a few. I was inspired by Miss Eleanor May’s post about running:
And I decided that it was a good day to start running!
I dug my running shoes out of the closet, got going, and returned after 3.22 Miles! It was not a very fast run, but it was a lot less painful that I had imagined it would be. Today I want to run again!
I have slowly and surely been getting back into resistance training and so far, doing at-home workouts have been heaven sent!
Looking for a quick & effective arm workout?! Give this one a try:
Here’s another one for good measure:
The Word of the Day is:
- (verb used without object) to explode with a loud noise; detonate.
- to issue denunciations or the like (usually followed by against): The minister fulminated against legalized vice.
- (verb used with object) to cause to explode.
- to issue or pronounce with vehement denunciation, condemnation, or the like.
- (noun) one of a group of unstable, explosive compounds derived from fulminic acid, especially the mercury salt of fulminic acid, which is a powerful detonating agent.
I have started a new exercise to get our “word of the day.” In the book that I am reading, I have been writing a list of the words that I do not know. In the moment I try to make inferences based on the context (unless I really don’t understand it) then I come back to it later and look it up. I don’t know if this is the best approach, but it has helped me to flow more with my reading. And it is fun to check the words off my list as I share them with you!
Are you an avid runner, beginner, or a power walker? What are your favorite ways to prevent injury? As I grow older, one of my concerns/fears is getting injured. I don’t want to end up with a meniscus tear. I am still relatively new to the world of training and running. Please share your running/walking tips in a comment below.
Have a Lovely Day, My Dear Darling Friends!
Love, Joy, and Blessings Always,
