Transform Your Life Project: #24

I let myself relax a lot last week.  Even so, I got an early start everyday!  My boyfriend has an over 2 hour long commute to work everyday and last week he came home every night.   I of coursed loved it, but I know that it was tiring for him. I decided to wake up early every morning with him and on Tuesday morning I went for my 1st run in a long time!

It felt so great to get an early start and to get my body moving!  I cooked a hot meal every night last week and felt great about that.

  • Monday -Pumpkin Beef Curry (we cooked it together)
  • Tuesday- Spicy Kale Soup (I might have overdone it a little on the spice.  Note to self, use a few less shakes of cayenne in soup.
  • Wednesday-Crunchy Sesame Garlic Beef with stir-fried veggies.
  • Thursday -Pumpkin Curry
  • Friday -was our celebration night so we went out for Mexican…  Then later that night he made beef curry and I made breaded pork chops…

Sadly, my pork chop recipe was so elaborate that by the time it was ready, he was full from the curry and we were both exhausted.  Luckily we had fancy pork chops for breakfast on Saturday morning, but I still don’t think the recipe was worth all that effort.  Oh well, right?

It is so nice to have the freedom to do whatever I want to do with my days!  This week, I want to get back into hitting my books HARD!

Christopher took a 4 day weekend and on Friday morning he had a Business meeting and I got to be his partner in crime.  We arrived in the town super early so we went to the local pub/diner for breakfast.  I think it was the first time that I have ever played a pool game before 9 am.  The meeting went really well and we were on our way home before Friday traffic hit!

I had lots of late nights over the weekend.  Father’s Day was fun.  We went for a walk in the sunshine with our puppy Ruby then visited his parent’s and made a steak and salad dinner.  Earlier on Sunday I got us coffees from Starbuck’s and I guess their Americano’s automatically have 4 shots.  Later that day Christopher’s mom made me a long island iced tea that had half the alcohol that a usual long island has, but shortly after our visit; I quickly felt like garbage.  I felt tired, dizzy, dehydrated and like I was on the verge of a bad headache and nausea.  As soon as we got home I drank a lot of water then had to lie down to get off the swaying boat.  I was feeling seasick.

Those feelings of illness were an alarming wake-up call for me.  It made me realize how much I need to get healthy so that I can prevent diseases and illnesses in my life.  I know that I have family members with diabetes, obesity, heart disease, and high cholesterol.  I want to improve the quality of my life by taking better care of myself.

Later that evening, I was relieved to realize that I was feeling the effects of caffeine combined with alcohol.  I don’t want to feel that way again so I am going to be sticking with water and tea.  Later that evening, Christopher’s parents came to our house and brought us delicious homemade strawberry short cake with freshly picked strawberries.  I absolutely love Strawberry season!!!

We sat in our back yard, enjoying our dessert and good conversation about my Calico Kitty Alleyjandra.  We all concluded that she must be a maine coone cat.

This morning I felt exhausted so I slept in and I have been dragging through the day.  I think those late nights over the 4-day weekend must have caught up with me.  I was feeling a little down so I decided to put those raisins and oats in the cabinet to work.

I have a long to-do list, but I am lacking energy.  I will try to do more tomorrow.  Until then, I will try to do what I can.

I also noticed in some pictures from this past weekend that I am not happy with the way that my arms are looking.  I want to tone up my arms so I better start working on that too.

  1. I love Ruby’s underbite! Adorable! And if Alleyjandra has a cute little short tail, then she definitely has Maine coon in her (and she absolutely does have the resemblance), 😀 . Have a super great week!!
