Workout and Word of the Day: #55

I think today went well.  I got a later start because I have been getting to bed late.  My next area of focus will be getting to bed earlier so that I can get an early start.  I started oil pulling with coconut oil.  I grabbed a spoon full of coconut oil, started my watch and carried on with my day (took Ruby out, fed the cats & Ruby, fixed my bed, brewed a cup of tea) then 20 minutes later; I spit it out.  

I would like to add the oil pulling to my morning routine.  The last time, I did it for a week and noticed that my teeth were whiter and I had more energy.  There could be something to it because I got through my day without coffee!  Once I got my morning chores out of the way; I did a morning yoga workout.

I have decided to get serious about practicing yoga consistently.  I am really having fun with the variety of yoga videos on youtube.

After yoga, I decided to do 20 minutes of vocal warm-ups.  Our voice is also produced by a muscle and I want to get back into singing.  I could tell that my upper range needs work, but I was surprisingly enjoying my mid-range notes.

Workout of the Day: Walk with Ruby, Resistance Bands, & Yoga

Ruby and I walked for 54 minutes and went over 2.5 miles!

When we got home I got right into my resistance training!


Word of the Day:

elucidate- verb

  1. to make lucid or clear; through a light upon; explain
  2. to provide clarification; explain

I ended my day with Yoga.  Try this video below!  It features some excellent ab work!

I am blown away by all the resources that are available to us.  What a blessing it is to be alive in this day and age where workouts and resources are available at our fingertips!  I am really glad that I have started my yoga practice.  It really helps me to be aware of my body and my breathing.

Maybe someday I will workout in the gym again…  But until then, I am really enjoying the luxury of working out at my own pace in the comfort of my home.  My cardio has been walking which is not as strenuous as I am used to, but I keep reminding myself that I am aiming for consistency.  I want my workout habits to last this time around.
