Workout and Word of the Day #58

This afternoon while on my run I ran past people at a bus stop and one lady started cheering for me and told me I was doing a great job.  It was one of those puzzling, “Do I know you or am I in the middle of a 10k race?” moments.  I bet the confused expression on my face was priceless.  It was towards the end of my run and once I got over myself I realized that it was a nice and encouraging gesture on her part.  It gave me that nice little kick of energy that I needed to finish strongly!

Workout of the Day: Run + Pilates

Today I ran 6.5 Miles.  My splits per mile have improved!  I decided to wear my somewhat older running shoes because I don’t want my new ones to wear out super fast.  I noticed that the sides of my feet were a little sore in the beginning of my run, but after the halfway point; the pain dissipated.

This is one of my favorite equipment-free arm workouts:

Here is another workout that will make your arms BURRNNN:

And Finally these arm exercises are simple, effective, and portable:

Word of the Day:

doff- verb

  1. to remove (an article of wear) from the body.
  2. to take off (the hat) as a form of greeting or respect.
  3. to rid oneself of; or put aside

Thank you for joining me for another “Workout and Word of the Day.”  It feels great to be active again.  I know it has been a long time since I have done a gym workout.  Hopefully I will get to that point again soon.  I have been focused on saving time and money.  That’s why most of my workouts have been at-home workouts.

Goodnight my dear darling friends!  I shall see you tomorrow!

Love, Joy, and Blessings Always,

Alana Xoxoxo

  1. Good job on the running! I run hot and cold on Blogilates. I like her message, I just don’t think that she’s dynamic, and I can’t listen to her voice for too long. Also, she has a tendency to say “I know” a lot, which kind of bugs me. Anyway, just checking in to say hello. Come say hi!

    1. Thanks Jacob! I agree with you on Blogilates. I like that Cassey is upbeat and her videos are Short. Any longer and it might be too much. How are you doing? Thanks for stopping by! Xoxo.
