Transform Your Life Project: #30

Happy August Everyone!  I feel like this summer is flying by!  This past week was a whirlwind and I hardly remember what happened, but I know that it was mostly good.

I had a couple of challenging days after a conversation with my Mother, but it reminded me that sometimes you just have to love your family from a distance…  Family relationships can be challenging at times because we do not always see eye-to-eye with our parents and siblings.  Relationships are all about acceptance and compromise and healthy relationships take work. Sometimes the people who love us the most and that we love the most are able to hurt us the most.

It gave me a chance to look into my own soul and self-reflect.  I know, that sounds pretty deep.  Then I realized that I have grown tremendously in the past couple of years and even more so in the past year.  My journey to healing has taken years and it will probably be a lifelong journey, but I do know for a fact that I have come a long ways with my healing.  I am pursuing my goals and dreams and that means the world to me.

I spent years of my life taking the advice of others and always trying to do the “right thing” (usually for them).  Now I am learning how to be strong and do the right thing for me.  This is part of Living Out Loud. In addition, I am on my Transform Your Life Project.  Nobody said that transforming would be easy.  In fact I knew that it would be challenging.  I created this project because I knew that I had big life changes to make if I wanted to be on the right path towards my goals.

So here I am…  Transforming.  Some people will stay attached to who you were and will not like who you are becoming.  They will resist the changes that you are making and even cause you to question yourself because your changes and growth makes them feel uncomfortable.  You canNOT live your life for them!  This is your one crazy, beautifully, precious life to LIVE OUT LOUD.

When doubt creeps into your mind and heart; ask yourself this question:

“Do I like who I am becoming?”

If your answer is yes, then you are on the right track.  If your answer is no then ask yourself one more question:

“What do I need to change or do so that I will like who I am becoming?”

July:

Love Thyself Then Spread the Love

I am really happy with the work I did in July!

Take time for self-care.  I went above and beyond with this mission!  I started running, visited the spa multiple times, went bra shopping, blogged and journaled more than ever.  Yes, it was a GREAT month!
Learn to be Confident. I worked hard on standing up for myself and communicating better.
Nurture your relationships  Working on communication and standing up for myself has helped me a lot with my relationship.
Seek inspiration I was blessed to be inspired by so many people and books.  AND bloggers just like you.  Inspiration is Everywhere!
De-clutter This could use some work, but I made progress!

August:

Remember Love

Quit nagging
Listen
Cultivate healthy relationships
No Dumping
Give proofs of love

August is probably my favorite month!  I may be a little biased because my birthday is this month.  I will continue to work on my July goals because those are ongoing works in progress.  This month is all about love and relationships.

What are your August goals?  Comment below to share them.  I would love to hear all about it!

Love, Joy, and Blessings Always,

Alana Xoxoxo
