Workout and Word of the Day #63

I love waking up in the morning and feeling my thighs burn…  I have finally started working out again.  This time I am taking a different approach.  I was going to join a local gym because the classes are always appealing to me, but we are also trying to save more money.  So I have decided to try my man’s approach and invest in a “home-gym.”

It feels like a bit of a sacrifice because I have belonged to a gym for years, but I also think this will be a good time-saver because we will cut out the travel time to and from the gym & I will never have to wait in line for a shower or bother with towel service or the hassle of forgetting anything.  Overall it feels like a win!

Workout of the Day:  Kettle-bell circuit & Spinning

  • Kettle-bell lunge and twist (10 times both sides)
  • Kettle-bell squat and press (10 both sides)
  • Kettle-bell swings (15)
  • Halos (10)
  • Chops (10 both sides)
  • 10 straight leg lifts on the Captain’s Chair
  • 20 Sit-ups

*Repeat this circuit twice!!!

  • Ride stationary bike for 45 minutes
  • Change the resistance every song!

This was a great workout to get me going again.  My goal this time around is to establish and maintain a good, consistent habit.  I had initially planned on completing 3 circuits, but I decided to stop after 2 because I wanted to have enough energy for spinning.

*Always listen to your body and don’t overdo your workouts.  Especially when you are just starting out!

Word of the Day:

  1. be enrolled at a college or university.

How is the month of October treating you so far?  Have you settled into your groove for the fall?  I can tell that this is going to be a good month.  September was a non-stop whirlwind and October seems to be filled with an orderly chaos now that school has officially started.  After only one week of classes, I already had to start playing catch-up.  I just want to stick with this program, learn the fundamentals, and come out being more educated than I was going in.

Wish me luck and keep me in your prayers!  I have a long road ahead of me 🙂

Love, Joy, and Blessings Always,

Alana Xoxoxo
