Workout and Word of the Day: #71

My weekend had a slow start “study-wise”, but yesterday I started implementing timers and it made ALL the difference in the world!

I study for 20 minutes then take 2 minute off then study for 20 minutes then take 2 minutes off + a 10 minute break.

The timer helps me to be more aware of my time.  During the “study time” I HAVE to focus solely on my school work so that means that I cannot blog, or journal, check my email, or make myself a cup of tea.  During that time I can only study, but I can do the other activities during my break time.  My friend Tara recommended this approach and my boyfriend said that in the Navy they did the same thing when he was taking the exact same Digital Logic class as me.  I needed a way to infuse some discipline into my life and so far it has made a tremendously positive difference for me!

Workout of the Day: Bicep + Back + Stationary Bike

I used this workout as my warm-up!

*Complete each exercise 30 times*

  • Hammer Curls
  • One-arm dumbell row
  • Bicep Curls
  • Reverse Flys
  • Lat Pull-downs

*Repeat this circuit one more time!

Then I road on the stationary bike for 43 minutes while watching the latest season of “New Girl.”

Word of the Day:


  1. Comparable in certain respects, typically in a way that makes clearer the nature of the things compared.

I weighed myself and didn’t lose a tremendous amount of weight, but I do feel stronger and better about myself.  I am so happy that I have found a way to focus and commit myself.  It’s about time!  I am trying to focus on my learning rather than my shortcomings.
