Workout and Word of the Day: #1

Hello My Dear Darling Friends!

Last year I documented a total of “Workout and Word of the Day” workouts!!!  Blogging about my workouts kept me working out more consistently than ever.  It also held me accountable and kept me motivated.  I have been contemplating continuing my count or starting a new count with the New Year.

I was almost certain that I would continue counting because someday it would be cool to say that I did “525,600 workouts” but today I decided that I am going to hit the reset button and try to beat last years record!

I have discovered that I definitely need to exercise to exist.  The sedentary lifestyle cramps my style and does not suit me at all.  Today I finally mustered up enough energy to get started…  Of course this was after I Shopped Til I Dropped for workout themed items!

I am officially at my heaviest.  It is hard to believe that I have never been this heavy.  I would like to make this the heaviest I ever get in my life.  I know that my lbs do not define me, but I do want to increase my quality of life and lessen my chances of getting diseases.

Workout of the Day: Run / Walk and Total Body Circuit!!!

I ran a total of 3.74 miles today.  At first it was a lot more walking than running.  I could feel it in my calves and tendons (after last nights forest hike) I do not want to get injured so I made it a point to listen to my body.  I did not like what I heard at first.  My ankles and calves were complaining and I was beginning to worry that I would not be running at all.  On the way back I finally felt warmed up enough to run and it was glorious.  I felt so fearless and fierce as I ran!

Total Body Circuit!

  • Push-ups
  • Squats
  • Dumbell Flys
  • Sumo Squats
  • Bench Dips
  • Split Lunges
  • Lateral Raises
  • Jumping Jacks (50)
  • Crunches
  • Tricep Extensions
  • Lunge Jacks
  • Scissors

*Complete 3 sets of 15!!!  You got this!!!

Word of the Day:

  1. the colorless fluid part of blood, lymph, or milk, in which corpuscles or fat globules are suspended.
  2. an ionized gas consisting of positive ions and free electrons in proportions resulting in more or less no overall electric charge, typically at low pressures (as in the upper atmosphere and in fluorescent lamps) or at very high temperatures (as in stars and nuclear fusion reactors).

This wraps up this 2017’s 1st workout of the year!  Exercise is the ultimate antidepressant.  A superior elixir that keeps me feeling happy and hopeful.  Thank goodness for that!!!

Alright, this week I am supposed to get more sleep so I better head to bed soon.

*Sweet Dreams*

Love, Joy, and Blessings Always,

❤ Alana Xoxoxo
