Today was a big day…
We covered the cardiovascular system in anatomy and physiology class (fascinating stuff.) Afterwards I went lap-swimming for an hour followed by an hour in the sauna. Lately I have been taking some time to “smell the roses” and realize how much I absolutely love being a college student!!!
I have spent years working my butt off and working up to this point where I can dedicate my life to learning. I must admit; last year was rough since I felt so completely out of my element in technology classes. Now it feels unreal that I have dedicated the past 8 weeks to anatomy & physiology, biology, and dance! I love this program and my teachers who have taught me so much. I don’t want this quarter to end.
Last night my bf took our dog Ruby on a long walk and had a nice long heart to heart. We have big plans for the future and are anticipating some grand adventures this year. In the meantime, our animal family has been growing. We had 3 cats and one dog!
I love every single one of them and they have brought so much joy and love to my life. I feel blessed to have such a sweet little family. During our walk we decided to talk about logistics. We both have big dreams and many of our adventures will require us to travel.
For example, we have a meeting in LA coming up then an appointment in San Francisco and if all goes well, we may be heading back to Beautiful New Zealand!
The most challenging part of travelling is finding the proper accommodations for our pets in the meantime. Oscar has desperately been trying to be an outdoor cat since we moved here nearly 3 years ago. I insisted on keeping him indoors because we live near a busy road on which I have seen dead pets. And I adore Ruby, but she demands constant attention and companionship. I felt like I was doing a pretty good job when I was working and my sister helped me care for her, but now that I am at school all the time; Ruby just doesn’t always get the TLC that she desires. A walk or two and some playtime a day just doesn’t cut it.
So today we made the hardest decision of all. We decided to find homes for those too. It feels like a shock because I was not expecting it to happen so soon :'(. Thankfully, Christopher’s parents have taken in our little ones. Oscar lived outdoors in their barn before and Ruby has stayed there before too. She absolutely loves Phoebe and Lexus so I think it is a good fit and I am hoping and praying that it will ALL work out!
I am so glad that I get to keep Alleyjandra and Carl. Tonight, I feel so sad. I miss my black kitty cat and my puppy-girl. Luckily they are not far away and I can see them whenever we please.
I have had many ideas on some fun new blog posts to write, but everyday has been so jam packed with school. Hang in there with me my dear darling friends, I will be writing more real soon!!!
Love, Joy, and Blessings Always,
