I always knew that my little Kitty-Girl, Alleyjandra was an escape artist. Ever since she was a tiny little kitten; she could always find her way out of the cat carrier. That’s why her middle name is “Houdina.”
Our cats have been indoor cats because there is a very busy road behind our house and I have seen too many poor little animals get hit. We also have a lot of raccoons who prowl about. It is always my worst fear that one of our kitties will get outside.
A few weeks ago I took my dog, Ruby downstairs like I always do before heading out to school. To my surprise, I saw little miss Alleyjandra sitting patiently on the outside of our screen door. “Alleyjandra?!?! How did you get out?!” I was ready to send out a txt berating our tenants for letting the cat out when she swiftly jumped up to the window and showed me that she pushed the screen out. “Look Momma! I know how to get out!!! I’m gonna do it again!” I quickly caught her and secured her in my room upstairs.
Ever since then Alleyjandra and Carl have been hanging out in our master suite. Thankfully it is very spacious and they have lots of toys and scratching posts…
But yesterday when I got home, Alleyjandra wasn’t there to greet me like she always does. My heart dropped when I saw that the screen to my window was missing. Oh No!!! I looked out the window and called out her name. THANKFULLY I could see her in our backyard hiding.
I ran downstairs and when she saw me she came running. I am so glad that she came home. One of our tenants said that they saw the screen on the ground since 12 in the afternoon and I didn’t get home until 4:30. Had she spent all afternoon outside?
I am so glad that Alleyjandra is okay. It was perfect timing that she had a physical at the vet and all of her vaccinations. The vet said that she weighs 11.5 lbs and she gave Alleyjandra a clean bill of health. She said that she is well-hydrated and at a very healthy weight. She also said that she is a strong cat and has a nice solid structure. I couldn’t be happier!!!
I will have to keep an extra eye on my little kitty-girl escape artist! She loves a life of adventure like her Momma!!!
I would love to hear from all of you cat-lovers out there. How do you keep your cats from escaping and destroying your window screens? Please comment below to share!!!
I hope you will all enjoy your weekend!!!
Love, Joy, and Blessings Always,
