It HAS to Happen!

Getting started is always the Hardest part, but sticking with it through distractions can be difficult too.  I know that once I clean and organize my space; the other pieces in my life will fall into place.

There are books I want to read, problems I need to solve, and projects I want to work on, but it always feels impossible when I have these chores looming over me.

Last weekend I declared WAR on all of the dirt in my kitchen and I won and it feels so damn good to walk into a kitchen that is neat and clean.  I have been cooking more and I feel a sense of pride whenever I am down there.

I want to feel that same sense of peace and pride when I am in my bedroom and bathroom.  It is a beautiful place with lots of space and potential, but it has been cluttered and crowded with remnants from the past quarter at school.  I have books stacked up and papers strewn about and cat toys everywhere. I think it is time for me to make an appointment with the “Queen of Clean.” And that would be me 🙂

I also want to feel productive and like I accomplished something today because the past few days have been feeling so hazy and lazy.  So as soon as I post this post I will get to work!

Here’s what I am up against!

I am tempted to just take all the scattered items and throw them into the center of the floor then I will pick up each item one by one  and decide if I want this to follow me into summer.

That’s not a bad idea I think I will do just That!  I also need to go downstairs and locate my lighter so I can light my “Blue Hawaii” candle and I am also going to find and play Decluttering Videos on youtube to keep me company and keep me motivated.

What are some of your tips and tricks for de-cluttering and cleaning your space?  Please comment below to share your ideas!

  1. Getting all the excess into a pile then slowly going through them, item by item, is one of the best ways to declutter! It has worked for me time and time again. 🙂 When it comes to livening up a room, less is more when it comes to decor! When more of the focus can be on ten different things than, say, 30 or 50, it really improves the mood and vibes in a space. Over the years, I’ve attempted to decorate using all of my favorite things, but it always ended up being too much and definitely an eyesore. There’s so much inspiration on Pinterest with room organization and decor placement – I definitely recommmend looking there! 😊💕

    1. Hi Maggie!
These are Great ideas and I am going to start placing all this clutter into a pile and will go through it piece by piece. I can definitely relate to you and how you said that you have tried decorating with all of your favorite items and it ended up being too much. I especially have that issue with my desk. I placed all of my favorite pens in the jar and it ended up being too much. Yes, less IS more. Thanks again for stopping by and sharing what works for you!!! I hope you will have an amazing rest of your day!

    1. Hi Linda!
That is a great practice. I deep cleaned my kitchen about 2 weekends ago and have been doing just what you suggested. Cleaning as I go and it has made a huge difference. Now I need to start applying that tho the rest of my life :).
I hope you will have a wonderful week! And thanks for the tips!
