Home Is Wherever I Am With You

If you had the opportunity to live a nomadic life, traveling
from place to place, would you do it? Do you need a home
base? What makes a place “home” to you?

I have a bit of a mixed answer for this prompt or rather, ideas around what makes home home.

If I had the opportunity to live a nomadic lifestyle I think I would go for it.  I often dream of living an adventurous life and travelling the world with little attachments.

My bf is a nomadic gypsy soul who often gets wanderlust and needs to travel and it is a beautiful way to live.  You learn how to be resourceful and go a long way with less.

In my early 20’s when I was far away from home I would often dream of my childhood bedroom and my stuff.  I would long for my things and wish that I were at home.  I used to equate having collections and things with abundance when really abundance is being able to live a full and vibrant life.  It is being able to share your gifts and talents with the people you love the most and even some strangers.

I still struggle with being attached to things and the idea of a home base.

Another side of my clings to home base…  I would like to travel the world, but always have a place to come home to.

I also like the idea of being fluid and able to create a home wherever I go.  I think the one thing that keeps us a little more attached to home is our animals, but we always make plans with them in mind.

Last Christmas we got a motor home and our top priority was making it kitty friendly.

I don’t want to get stuck in a place to the point where I grow bored and stagnant.

If I had a chance I would take it!

How about you?  Would you live a nomadic life if you had a chance or do you prefer to live at home?  Maybe a combination of both?

Also, do you plan ahead when you travel and schedule hotel reservations or would you rather figure it out as you go?

Love, Joy, and Blessings Always,

  1. This is fantastic! I think I would love to live a nomadic style of life…I know my husband could never do it tho…he LOVES his stuff. Me, I’m simple. Ugh, you make me want to travel! 🙂

    1. That is wonderful! I do think there is something so freeing about going a long way with less. It definitely isn’t easy because it is easier to accumulate stuff. I hope you will be able to travel in the future 🙂
