Workout and Word of the Day: #14

Hello My Dear Darling Friends!

I definitely felt that last thigh workout that we did.  It feels so good to know that I am challenging myself.

This workout falls on my recovery day so I did some gentle stretching and am going to do a 40 Day Kundalini Yoga Weightloss Challenge.  I have always wanted to try Kundalini Yoga.  I know that the youtube videos aren’t the same as participating in an actual class, but I think it is a good start for me to ease myself into a consistent yoga practice.

I want to start doing exercises that I can do my entire life and will contribute to my health and well-being.  In the past year, (since Computer Science Foundations last September) I have noticed that my anxiety has gotten worst.  And it manifests itself in the form of sweating uncontrollably at weird times like when I am standing in line at the grocery store or talking to a professor.  I will probably go see my doctor to try and track down the root of the cause, but I am also going to see if I can heal myself with natural remedies and hopefully prevention.

I am hoping that consistent meditation, cleaner nutrition, and practicing yoga will help me on this journey of healing.

Workout of the Day: STRETCH IT OUT NOW!

9 Steps To Doing the Splits:  I was super excited because at the end of may I was able to do full splits thanks to my ballet class and dance workshops.  That was one of the things I wanted to be able to do before turning 30 and I did it!  Here are some of the stretches that I practiced.  Remember to go at your own pace and be gentle with your body.  Also make sure that you spend at least 5 minutes warming up.

Kundalini Yoga Day 1:  After my warm-up and stretches I did day 1 of the 40 day Kundalini weightloss challenge.  On this post, I will feature the intro to the challenge because I will probably post about each day.

Today’s Word of the Day is:

regimen- noun

  1. A systematic plan (as of diet, therapy, or medication) especially when designed to improve and maintain the health of a patient.
  2. A regular course of action and especially of strenuous training.
