Workout and Word of the Day: #40

Hello My Dear Darling Friends!

I have about 3 weeks before I start fall quarter and I think it is time for me to start creating a routine for myself that will be in line with my school schedule.

Lately, my workouts have been getting pushed towards the end of my days and that is with a fairly empty schedule so I need to start designing my life to run more smoothly with a full schedule.  I am nervous about it, but I think that if I start creating a routine now then it will be an easier transition once school starts.

My biggest fear is that I will fall off and let my workouts slide and use school as an excuse.  I don’t want to do that because I know that consistency is the key to progress.

Workout of the Day:  PILATES + YIN YOGA

You will need a swiss ball for this workout, but if you don’t have one you can still do this workout.

This pilates workout was challenging for me, but that made the process even more fulfilling when I finished it.  I was sweating after the 1st 5 minutes!

After that pilates workout I felt energized, but I decided that it was time for bed so I used this relaxing Yin Yoga routine to help me relax and unwind.  Yin Yoga focuses less on doing a variety of poses and more on your breath and breathing through the poses for a long time.  It was very relaxing, but I also discovered that my hamstrings are very tight.  I need to do this more often.

Word of the Day:

septenary- adjective

  1. Of or relating to the number seven or forming a group of seven.
  2. Septennial.
  3. A group or set of seven.

Happy September Everyone!  What are your fitness goals for this month?  I want to create a solid routine for myself so that I can continue working out even once my hectic school schedule starts.  Please comment below to share your fitness goals.  I would love to hear all about them!

Love, Joy, and Blessings Always,

❤ Alana Xoxoxo

      1. I’m here for you Emily Rose! I will definitely go check out your new blog post. I have been doing pretty well during the day with my nutrition, but I have noticed lately that once the sun goes down it’s like my cravings spin out of control so I need to figure that out. Hahaha

    1. My goal is to hopefully start doing morning workouts soon. I need to fix my sleep schedule. I have also been pretty sick and out of commission lately, but I am looking forward to getting back on track!

      1. The last post I read of yours was that you were sick. Also if I remember correctly that you have anxiety, which I do to. Working out helps with my stress level, and lowers my anxiety, and chance of a panic attack.

      2. Yes, that’s good to know. I noticed that I was healthy the entire two months that I was working out this summer consistently, but in the first week of school I didn’t work out and then I got sick so there is definitely something to it. I need to also make health a priority in the midst of a busy schedule.
