Workout and Word of the Day: #73

Fall quarter has finally come to a close and I couldn’t be happier.  It was a struggle especially since I got so sick and it wasn’t pretty, but now it is done.  I have a hard time letting go when I think that I could have done better, but I need to make sure that I let this go so that it doesn’t keep me from moving forward.

One of the most effective ways to move forward is  to physically get moving!  I was feeling very down and unmotivated, but I decided to make lemon chicken for my boyfriend and I and once I stuck the dish in the oven I felt so much better!

I was even happier when it turned out!

Workout of the Day: Pilates & Ballet

Center Work Ballet:  This was fun and challenging at the same time.  I really appreciated the way that she broke down the steps for turns.  Both Pirouettes and Pique Turns.  Those have always been challenging for me, but this was super helpful and I love the fact that I can practice it in my own bedroom!

Exercises for Strong Arms and Core:  This was challenging, but it felt so good to practice planks and push-ups!

Pilates: Core Exercises for Weightloss -this workout kicked my butt!!!  I could tell that it definitely works!

Word of the Day:

dundrearies- plural noun

  1. long, full sideburns or muttonchops.

Thank you for joining me for another workout and word of the day!  And remember the next time you feel unmotivated or down, try doing something nice for someone.  Today that really helped to lift my spirits.  Have a wonderful weekend my dear darling friends!!!

Love, Joy, and Blessings Always,

❤ Alana Xoxoxo

  1. So hard for me to get moving after I’ve been sick too!
I’ve always been interested in YouTubing ballet but it has never seemed like something a beginner could do and I wouldn’t know where to start!

    1. I hope you are feeling better. It is such a drag to get sick especially during this busy time of year. I have noticed that the little ballet videos on youtube have been a nice way to practice from home. I really enjoy the channel “Lazy Dancer Tips” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3oas1pSDFxI
she is very sweet and does a really nice job of explaining things. I will try to post up some good beginner ballet videos too on this blog. I hope it helps!
