Be-YOU-tifully YOU Project: 2018

Sip Sip

Hello My Dear Darling Friends!

Nearly every year of blogging, I have done some kind of yearly Project. In 2013 I attempted my 1st Happiness Project.  I was inspired by Gretchin Rubin’s “The Happiness Project”  and wanted to create a Happiness Project of my own.  The 2nd half of 2012 was very painful for me and I hoped for a better year.  I started this project out strongly, but my lack of a computer made it difficult to continue.  I believe I reattempted the happiness project in 2014, but ran into the same obstacle of having no computer.  Then in 2015, I got a computer and was more successful, but fell off the wagon at the end of the year.

In 2016 I decided that it was time for me to switch up my theme!  Had I really found more happiness after completing my happiness projects?!?!  To be honest, not really.  Then I had a revelation!  There were big changes that I needed to make in my life.  Perhaps I should focus on getting my shit together before I  go back to focusing on my happiness!  That was the year I created my “Transform Your Life Project.”  That year I consistently stuck with my monthly goals!

In 2017 I decided that I still had more transforming to do so I started the “Transform You Life Project 2.0”.  IT had those same redeeming qualities as before, but I hoped that it would be an even better version of the project.  Sadly, I did not remain consistent with this project and in the middle of the summer I decided to let go peacefully.

I knew that even though it was sad to let that one go; it was okay because I would do another project in 2018.

So hear I am!  And if you have made it this far I would like to thank you for sticking with me!!!  This is a somewhat lengthy introduction, but I assure you that you will not regret joining me for this Grand 2018 adventure!!!

Welcome to the BeYOUtifully YOU Project!!!

2018 is our time to shine!!!  I know that we have all heard the suggestion to “Know Thyself” and I want to fully and completely embrace this concept.  This is the final year of my twenties and I have to admit that I still struggle with crazy little insecurities and lack of self-esteem and confidence.  I think that if I really take time to look within myself and also challenge myself to be a better and stronger person then I will grow in confidence, strength, and grace.

I want you to spend this entire year learning about yourself, taking on challenges, and conquering your fears and doubts to be the BEST YOU that you can possibly BE!!!

Will it be easy?  Not always.  I am going to ask you to step outside of your usual limits and dig Deeply.

Will it be worth-it?  It absolutely is worth-it because YOU are Worth-it!!!

Traditionally, I gave each month a theme like: “Build your Foundation” or “Focus on Faith.”  This year I have decided to simplify things a bit and give us a virtue or quality to focus on throughout the month.  Remember that the qualities we sow in past months will continue to grow in the future!!!

      1. Those are great goals! Even something small once a week feels really good. I posted in waves this year and sometimes I was gone for awhile, but I love blogging because even if you spend some time away you can always come back and pick up right where you left off 🙂
I am with you on the more sleep goal too!

        ❤ Alana

    1. Hi Olivia!
I am so happy to hear that!!! I will write a weekly post talking about how my week went. We can cheer each other on! I hope this will be a Wonderful New Year for you!!!

      ❤ Alana

  1. Hi Alana, what a wonderful blueprint for the entire year. Love your attitude and I have a feeling that 2018 is going to be a year of realising dreams and making them a reality. I wish you all the very best. Warmest wishes from a fellow traveller down under.

  2. Wow, Alana!!! That’s ambitious! But I’m sure you’ll do great! You know, you shouldn’t see it as a failure when you fall off the wagon. You don’t need to prove anything to anyone. What you do is solely for yourself. It’s okay to miss your goals one or two months, but just get back to it. Live in the moment and know that you disappoint no one. It is for yourself you are doing this. Personally, I find that it doesn’t work for me, planning out ahead a whole schedule. I stick best to my goals by keeping it simple and making little changes in my life, that will have a big impact. I try to live in the moment, to enjoy everything I do, I plan out a bit, but not for a long period of time and I try to obtain my goals each week. I try to be mindful about the food I eat, about the things I say, about the little things others do for you but that aren’t necessarily big gestures… I guess, that’s what keeps me on track… No matter how, we’ll support each other through this! xoxo Sarah

    1. Thanks Sarah!!! That is inspiring. I do find myself breaking my goals into smaller pieces. Thank you for reminding me to do this for me. Living in the moment is such a good practice that I want to get better at. Yes, we will continue to support each other through this year!
I just realized that we have been blog friends for over a year now! Thank you for being such a wonderful and supportive friend, Sarah. Last year was a rough year for me, but your kind words and encouragement really helped me get through a lot ❤
I also felt inspired by you and have started to do my makeup to go places :).
Keep up the wonderful blogging because you inspire so many of us.

      ❤ Alana
