Welcome to the “Workout and Word of the Day” series: 2018

Welcome to a new “Workout and Word of the Day” series!!!  This is my 3rd year of writing this series. At the beginning of 2016 I decided that I wanted a fun and inexpensive way to hold myself accountable and stay motivated to workout!!!

How did it start?

I wanted to make sure that I actively worked on exercising my body and my brain and that is why I chose to call it “Workout and Word of the Day.”  I will show you which workouts I do AND I will include a vocabulary word.  I never stick to any real theme when it comes to the words.  One day you might learn some computer code terminology and the next you might get a Latin phrase!

In the fall of 2016 after returning home from New Zealand, my bf and I decided that we would discontinue our gym memberships and invest in a home gym to save some time and money.  I was a little apprehensive about this decision because I have always loved the dance classes and the option of having a pool to swim in. I decided to dive right in and try it out!

This is when my “Workout and Word of the Day” series really took off.  There were days that I felt on fire and days when I barely wanted to get out of bed, but this series and the comments of my readers kept me inspired and coming back.

2016: I completed 93 workouts

2017: I completed 80 workouts

2018: I want to hopefully surpass 100 workouts this year!

I want to share this inspiration with you!  I am trying to figure out what works for my body type and how to get healthy without breaking the bank.  In the past I have had success with personal training, going vegan, and nutritional shake programs like Isagenix, but I realized that they cost a large chunk of change and in the end what helped me progress and get results was that accountability factor.

So here I am holding myself accountable and I hope you will join me for this ride!!!

What to expect:

I am going to show you what I do.  As a person who sometimes gets bored easily there will be a wide array of workouts from running and weights to ballet.  I will list my sets with weight suggestions, but remember to always modify the workouts to your ability.

A lot of my workouts have been Youtube video based.  I feel so blessed to know that we have an endless supply of free workouts available at our fingertips.  I will share my favorite ones with you and I hope you will share them with your friends.

After the workout we will learn a new word!

I have even been thinking about possibly creating my own youtube channel, but I am a little camera shy.  If you would like me to start making videos please comment below!!!

There is no need to wait for Monday, do something today even if it is just 5 push ups or a walk to the mailbox.  Those little things add up!!!
