Hello My Dear Darling Friends!
This was quite a week to say the least! It was week 1 of my senior year in college and I was excited to get started! I definitely have my work cut out for me and just finished my 1st book for the program right in time for tomorrow’s class.
I was sick all week long and that cramped my style! I had a 4-day headache that would not go away and when it finally did, I caught a 2-day head cold, followed by an upset stomach. I think my body was trying to catch up with all the excitement and process the stress that accumulates when you move and start school.
I joined a gym, but was not able to go for 2 days while I was sick. I fought it the first day, but on the 2nd day I gave myself permission to rest and recover and it thankfully worked. I was also well-equipped with my arsenal of hot tea, manuka honey, vitamin C, gluten free crackers, and zicam.
On Wednesday I had a free fitness assessment with a trainer at my gym and was a little thrown off because they kept telling me that when I squat I lean forward too much and my back should be upright like sitting in a chair. I just cannot figure out how that is possible. I think I need to lean forward a little bit to counter-balance…
I am enjoying my class, but can already tell that it is going to be intense. We have a ton of reading. This past Friday we did not have class and that was such a nice touch especially since I was sick all week.
I felt like I was skating on a thin line between being sick and just feeling lazy and not wanting to go to the gym so on Friday I went to the gym at my college because I knew it would not be busy and I am so glad that I did! There was only one other person there and I got a good workout in! My friend April invited me to her CTY Dance class and I did not think that I was up to it, but I decided to step outside of my comfort zone and go and I was SO glad that I did. April’s class helped me to come alive again. I did not dance all summer and it was just what I needed! After dance class I did get a triple tuna sushi roll. I swear I could eat sushi every damn day if it were an option!

I decided to work off my sushi feast with Zumba and had a total blast! The instructor even had me dance on stage. I did not know the song or choreography, but I still had a great time and was smiling from ear to ear! It was hard to believe that I did 3 workouts after feeling sick all week.
On Saturday I got a haircut and got to catch up with my stylist who I have been going to for the past 6 years! I was absolutely thrilled with the way she styled my hair! Keep reading and you will see my new hairdo!!!
After my haircut I went to my friend Marlena’s Triple-Threat Celebration. She called it that because we were celebrating her graduation, birthday, and going away. I am so glad that I went and got to catch up with her. Again I was nervous about going beforehand, but left happy.
That night I desperately wanted carbs, but instead of getting a pizza salad I got an ahi tuna salad bowl which was amazing! I am proud of myself for resisting temptations time after time!
On Sunday I woke up early and went to my very 1st Buti Yoga class!!! I have been wanting to do this for years and felt a sense of euphoria afterwards. It was also taught by Kate who is one of my favorite inspirations and people!!!

SEPTEMBER:
PASSION
- Create a Bucket-list (my year truly begins in September.) I am carrying this over to October.
- Make Time. This week I made time for myself and got to do things that I have always wanted to do! Like zumba and Buti yoga!!!
- Forget about the results.
- Live Passionately. Dancing has helped me to be my lively, passionate self once again!
- Master a new technology. I am working on it… I have been kind of busy 😉
Overall, September was a crazy month with so many changes, but it will always be my favorite. I am looking forward to see what October brings… Or rather, I am ready to bring my BEST to October.
These are my goals for the month of October and I think they are perfect for where I am at in my life right now!
OCTOBER:
ZEAL
- Hone in Focus.
- Examine True Rules.
- Stimulate the mind in new ways.
My hectic lifestyle has made me very flighty and I have noticed especially when I am studying that it is hard for me to focus on what I am doing. When I was reading, I noticed that I was still ready, but my mind was thinking about a bunch of other things. I need to hone in my focus.
I am setting an intention for the month of October and that intention is: CONSISTENCY. I am going to be consistent with my studies, nutrition, workouts, sleep, and overall health.
And now, the moment you have all been waiting for I present: My Hair ❤

And if you are still reading right now; thank you. I love you. I feel so honored to be able to share my stories and experiences with you ❤ Thank you for continuing to follow me and read about my adventures!!!
Have you set an intention for the month of October? If so, please comment below to share! I would love to cheer you on!!!
Be Real. Be True. Be-YOU-tifully YOU.
