Remember WHY You Started

Spend a little time everyday working towards your goals.  And on those days when you don’t feel like doing anything, take some time to remember WHY you started.

Life has been a little hectic lately.  We are approaching the middle of the quarter at school.  Pressures are rising and the homework load is being piled on.  Thankfully, I am working hard to keep up, but it has taken everything in me to dedicate the time that is necessary.

This year is different…  In the past, fall quarter was always my most stressful and I often got sick.  Usually by this point I am behind, but this time around I decided to make sure that I had my priorities straight.  One of the biggest differences was learning that prioritizing is far more important than “finding balance.”  There are just some areas in life that need more time, effort, and attention.  Nurture accordingly ❤

I am also staying on top of my weight loss and fitness goals and that has not been easy, but I know that it will be worth-it.  For the past 4 weeks, I have refrained from coffee, alcohol, and weed and it feels good. I think it has helped me think more clearly too!

Yesterday was my longest day of the week and was almost a ton of fun.  My sister came with me to school and we started our day bright and early at 7 am.  I usually lift on Tuesdays and I was tempted to push us through our workout, but I decided to be flexible.  I knew that we would be busy and would need all of our energy to get through the day.  We got out of class around 5 pm and decided to hike through the woods and to the beach.  It was absolutely gorgeous and got our hearts pumping.  We walked 4 miles and I decided that count that as the workout and shift Tuesday’s plan to today!

We met my mom for dinner at Olive Garden and you know how that goes.  There is SO much delicious food!  I did my best to make better choices like ordering an unsweetened berry water rather than an italian milkshake.  I did eat some soup and breadsticks, but made sure I also ate salad.  I also ordered the neverending pasta bowl, but only ate one bowl then headed home early and told my sis to take my next bowl home for her lunch the next day.

That meal was not planned and probably not within my calorie goal, but I logged it anyways and I don’t feel awful about myself because today I am hitting the gym before class and just picking up where I left off…  Except this time I never left.

So the next time you feel guilty about your decisions or feel like giving up do me favor…  Take 2 deep breaths then remember why you started and take the NEXT BEST step!
