I still struggle with severe gym anxiety. This has been very apparent to me these past few days. I have a 24/7 gym, pool, and spa at my new town home, but today was the first day that I mustered enough courage to go. In fact, I almost didn’t go for the 3rd day in a row. It is a smaller gym and I was worried about being around other people. I always get so self-conscious in gym settings and I am hoping that some day I will get over this.
I started my day with morning pages and read a chapter of a book with a workout plan that I am planning on following. I read through each exercise and studied the details then txted my sister and told her that I was going to be brave and go to the gym.
I put on some cute workout clothes (that always helps) and walked out of my front door (the first step is the first win.) There was only one other person there and I went straight to the treadmill in the corner to warm up.

I am so glad that I decided to be brave today and did a workout in my new gym. I am sure that I will be nervous again tomorrow, but I will make it a point to go back. Once I got started and felt my heart pumping; I was so happy to be there.
