Hello My Dear Darling Friends!
I woke up at 3 then had a hard time falling back asleep. I think it is time for me to start fixing my sleep schedule again. Last week was full of tragedy and this time of year is always challenging for me as I work with the after effects of PTSD.
I made it to the gym and was excited about my workout, but the shirt that I wore always makes me more critical of myself because I am not crazy about the way that it fits. There are some outfits that are so damn flattering that you can’t help, but feel confident. And then there are those outfits that are openly defiant and expose a variety of sins. This shirt is one of those, but I keep on wearing it because it also motivates me to keep coming back.
Today’s Workout: Push Day – Chest / Shoulders/ Triceps
- Dips 5 x 5
- Dumbbell Chest Press 5 x 5
- Military Press 5 x 5
- Lateral Side Raise to Front Raise 5 x 5
- Overhead Tricep Extensions 5 x 5
I am proud of the fact that I can now military press 30 lb dumbbells for the first time. 25 has been my max on days when I am feeling strong. It feels good to know that I am growing in strength!
After my lifting session, I hit the treadmill and did 5 Sprints for a minute with an easy minute in between. I ended up staying on the treadmill for a total of 45 minutes because I was listening to an intriguing podcast about stress and the advantages of intermittent fasting.
After that, I feel inspired to start intermittent fasting again and I am really leaning towards starting tomorrow. I recently had great success with IF and stuck with it for over 2 months. The main reason that I stopped was the holidays combined with the stress of moving. Also, when I started weightlifting I was concerned that it would be counterproductive for me to lift in a fasted state. I used to lift, dance and do everything in a fasted state back when it was working for me a few months ago so I think it is time for me to go back to that.

That is interesting. I think I thought just be reading the word that the meaning would have something to do with being nosy or irritating, but I like the actual meaning a lot more than I thought I would.
