I felt really good today! It is so nice to feel energetic and motivated. I am happy that these qualities are replacing old habits and thought patterns.
Workout of the Day: Hinge Day + Steady State Cardio
I warmed up with foam rolling and some glute activation exercises with my bands. After that I was warm and ready to go!
- Weighted Glute Bridge 3 x 10
- Goblet Full Squat 3 x 10
- Romanian Deadlift 3 x 10
- Dumbbell Side Bend 3 x 10
After lifting I walked on the treadmill for 30 minutes and adjusted the incline until I reached 15%. I have spent a lot of time struggling to find good cardio music and so far my favorite thing has been to listen to podcasts. Do you have any favorite playlists or podcasts? I know that I have met people who act like this and sometimes it is annoying. I just have to remind myself that we all have our quirks and nobody is perfect.
It’s the freakin’ weekend and I am excited because I completed the first week of my new workout format. This week I decided that I want to do lower body workouts (different movement patterns) on Monday / Wednesday/ and Friday. Then Push Day on Tuesday and Pull Day on Thursday. This worked out really well for me. I felt strong and was able to level up my weights for most of my lifts. I also added in some hiit training on the first two leg days.
I need to figure out what to do with my weekends workout / recovery-wise. I feel good and confident about my workouts during the week, but I have been struggling with my weekends. I think 2 straight days is too much recovery time for me. Maybe I will spend more time outside or try some new youtube videos.
