Hello My Dear Darling Friends!
Wednesdays are my favorite training day! I always feel so upbeat and enthusiastic by the time this day comes around. I do have to say though, that my sleep schedule has been wonky and my appetite has been elevated these days. Maybe there is a correlation between the two?
I am even taking an herbal sleeping aid that usually works. My issue has been that I have to wake up to pee at 1:40 am (like clockwork) and then I struggle to fall back asleep. This morning I was up for 2.5 hours and then I work up 3 hours later. I am going to start being more mindful of the time that I drink fluids. I used to drink herbal tea every night, but I realized that that kept me up. I think I am going to try and stop drinking fluids by 8:30 and hopefully that will help.
Sorry if that was TMI now let’s get to the workout!
Today’s Workout is: Leg Day (gait mvt. pattern) + med ball core circuit
- 3 x 20 Bodyweight Single-leg Glute Bridge
- 3 x 20 Walking Lunges
- 3 x 20 Reverse Hypers
- 1 x 30 Side Lying Abduction
There was a time when I honestly hated lunges and I bet that I am not the only one. I think I must have had some kind of imbalance, but now they have become my favorite.
I just realized that I forgot to do my side lying abduction exercises! What the heck?!?! This is the 2nd week in a row that I have done that. I know for a fact that I accidentally omitted them last week too. I am going to do those exercises right after I post this!
Medicine Ball Core Circuit: complete this 3 x’s
- 1 x 10 In-n-outs
- 2 x 10 Toe touches for upper abs
- 3 x 10 Leg lifts for lower abs
- 4 x 20 second hollow hold
The hollow holds were by far the most challenging for me. I know that I need to work on!
I am going to do this side series video this evening you should do it with me!
Word of the Day:
obsequious – adjective
- Marked by or exhibiting a fawning attentiveness.
My cat Carl is consistently obsequious even when he has been fed.
Thanks for joining me for another workout and word of the day. I am going to work on fixing my sleep schedule and figuring out what is going on with my elevated appetite. I have been working out really hard, but I have backed off from the cardio because I do not want to over train.
Sometimes I have a tendency to do too much and take that all or nothing approach which ends up being discouraging and sometimes leads to giving up. I am trying to take a different path this time around to get different results and I am enjoying the journey!
I am going to try and pinpoint what is causing the hunger. It could be boredom since I work and study from home, but I am not sure. Today I went for a walk before reaching for a snack so I am proud of that.
Have a good evening, My Dear Darling Friends!
❤ Alana
Thanks for the word of the day – good one and I looked it up a bit more –
The sequi root means to follow
–
And I drink a lot and use the bathroom sometimes a couple times a night – whew – but thankfully I can sleep again-
Hope you find the right balance
Thanks for reminding me of how much I love word etymology! That is a great discovery. So “non sequitur” is the opposite or “does not follow.”
I hope I will find the balance too. I will just keep experimenting until I figure out what works 🙂
😉 hope you have a good rest of the week
I had the best workout today.
