Hello My Dear Darling Friends!
I hope you are enjoying your Thursday so far! I have noticed that my energy level seems to reach its peak on Wednesday and by Thursday I feel a little drained. Today was no exception especially since it is cloudy and rainy. I had to remind myself that the rain here in Arizona is soft, gentle, and different from the cold rain in Washington state.
Thursday is also my most challenging training day because it is pull day. And my pulling is the weakest at this point. I still look forward to these Thursday workouts because I know that I am strengthening my weaknesses.
Today’s Workout is: PULL DAY + Love Handle Toner 🙂
- 5 x 5 Supermans
- 5 x 5 One-Arm Rows
- 5 x 5 Wide Grip Pull-Downs
- 5 x 5 Seated Rows
- 5 x 5 Bicep Curls
- 5 x 5 Rear Delt. Flys
I am really proud of the progress I am making with this workout. Today I was able to us 40 lb dumbbells for my one-arm rows! That is a first for me and I felt powerful and strong! The bicep curls are always a challenge for me, but I think it is more of a mental challenge. It is kind of an easy motion and sometimes I get distracted. That is when the weight creeps up on me, but when I make it a point to focus on the movement I am able to lift with more control.
Love Handle Toner: Complete this circuit 3 times!
- 20 Woodchops each side
- 50 Russian Twists
- 15 Side Plank Lifts both sides
- 30 Bicycle Crunches
I must confess that I felt like I was done after only 1 round. In fact I decided I would do at least 2, but when it came down to it; I was able to do all 3 rounds. It was another instance where the mental challenge was greater than the physical. I think another factor is the fact that my love handles are probably my least favorite feature at the moment. I reminded myself that this workout is probably exactly what I need to do consistently and that helped me power through!
Today’s Word of the Day is:
- Weak; ineffective.
- Worthless; irresponsible.
I am working out because I do not want to be feckless.
That is a fun word that rolls off the tongue nicely, isn’t it?!
Thanks for joining me for another workout and word of the day! I will see you tomorrow!
