Self-care Sunday #1

Hello My Dear Darling Friends!

I used to dread Sundays more than every other day of the week…  I felt like my to-do-list was endless and often got so overwhelmed. It used to mean that I would hardly ever see my man during the week because he commuted to work and that took most of his  time and energy.  It also meant that the next day would be Monday and we would all be back to the grind.

Some Sundays would feel absolutely frantic and others would feel paralyzing.  Thankfully my lifestyle and schedule has changed for the best and I am working on taking better care of myself.  I noticed a strange pattern in the past few months and it was that I was feeling a lot more stressed during the weekends than during the week days.

In the past, I often struggled with slowing down and resting and I think this is another iteration of that pattern.  This weekend felt a lot less stressful and more relaxing which was nice, but I noticed that I was still a little emotional and my skin has been breaking out.

Today I have officially brought back Self- Care Sunday…  Actually, I don’t think that has actually been a thing for me, but it is now!

I slept in and woke up naturally then drove to a place where other people made us morning coffee.  I also decided to rest and not work out today.  I have been working out hard and it is a good time for me to rest and recover.

This afternoon I spent some time sitting in the sun in the hot tub.  It was so nice to relax and be surrounded by blue skies and palm trees.

After some much needed relaxation, I exfoliated my face and applied this refreshing mask and this hair mask that smelled heavenly.

I am so glad that I am making time for self-care once again.  It is a great way to kick off the week!

  1. Your Sunday seemed pretty awesome! I usually do my baths and facials on a Friday night or Saturday, Sundays I just like to relax and take a breath to figure out the week ahead! So glad you enjoyed pampering yourself, we all deserve it🙌🏾💓

  2. Sounds like a lovely Sunday!
    My favorite forms of self care are:
    SLEEPING (Lots of it!)
    Hot epsom salt baths (If I had a hot tub I’d be in it everyday!)
    Massages (deep tissue & relaxation)
    Of course, I always feel better when I eat cleaner & drink lots of water.
    Stretching or going for a leisurely walk with no particular agenda in mind.
    Playing with my animals.

      Those sound like the very best forms of self-care! I am so glad you reminded me of the epsom salt baths. That will give me some much needed motivation to deep scrub the tub!
