Hello My Dear Darling Friends!
Do hiit workouts ever get easier? My guess is probably not and I guess that is a good thing. It takes boldness and practice to be able to push yourself hard. I used to always shy away from hiit workouts because they made me feel out of shape, but I am glad that I am finally conquering that fear. My friend Mahea showed me a hiit warm-up that she does on the treadmill and from there I have taken off with it.
Today’s Workout is: Leg Day + Hiit
- 3 x 20 Body weight Hip Thrusts
- 3 x 20 Body weight Full Squats
- 3 x 20 Body weight Back Extensions
- 1 x 30 Side Lying Clams
My legs were still sore from Saturday’s sprint session on the elliptical / treadmill. My calves are still sore from that workout. I must have gone extra hard that day!
Hiit: 45 sec. + 15 sec. rest
- Butt Kicks
- Jump Squats
- Burpees
- Mountain Climbers
- Side Lunges
- Jumping Lunges
*Complete this circuit twice*
Hiit for Abs:
- Mountain Climbers- 40 seconds
- Forearm Plank- 20 seconds
Rest- 1 min.
- Plank Jacks- 40 seconds
- Forearm Plank- 20 seconds
Rest- 1 min.
- Lateral Plank Walk- 40 seconds
- Forearm Plank- 20 seconds
*Complete this circuit twice*
I finally installed a tabata timer app on my phone and I think it made the workout harder. I must have been cutting a few seconds off before. This timer will keep me honest 😉
