Hello My Dear Darling Friends!
I hope your week is off to a great start! I have honestly done a total of 60 workouts so far this year. I just keep track of the workouts that I blog about and that is why I am on 41. I think this is the most consistent I have ever been with workouts in my entire life… Outside of being a competitive swimmer, but that was many moons ago.
This time around is so special to me because I am learning how to train myself. I am not working with a personal trainer or paying for a particular program. I do consult with friends and past mentors every now and then and I spend a lot of time reading books and articles to learn about the most effective ways to get into shape and live a healthy lifestyle. It is the first time that I have really and truly made my health a priority and it feels wonderful.
Today’s Workout: Chest & Biceps + Steady State Cardio
- Standard Push-ups 3 x 15
- Reptile Push-ups 3 x 10
- DB Bench Press 3 x 17
- DB Flys 3 x 20
- Hammer Curls 3 x 20
- Standing Bicep Curls 3 x 20
- Single-Arm Bicep Curls 3 x 12
- 21’s Bicep Curls 7/7/7
*Between every set I did plyometric exercises for 30 seconds to build in a hiit element. I did Jumping Squats, Jumping Jax, High Knees, and more Jumping Jax.
For steady state cardio I did 30 minutes of intervals on the elliptical. I set the elliptical to interval training which raises and lowers the levels and intensities. I played a fun playlist and alternated between using the arm levers and pushing myself hard for a song the going with no hands for the next song and working on balance / core engagement. It was a fun way to mix things up and pass the time.

You have probably noticed that I am doing more cardio. Summer is rapidly approaching and I would love to feel sexy in a bikini (for the 1st time in my life) at least by my next birthday (August 26th.)
I want to start dancing again and learning / creating new choreo. I think this would be very good for my soul. I have also been not practicing yoga and I know it would be so good for me to stretch out and find peace.
