Friday is here, but I got some sad news this morning. I found out that my best friend Kathy passed away in January. I did not find out until this morning because I have been living in a different state. It made me feel so thankful that my friends Diana, Mica, and myself made it a point to call Kathy and wish her a happy New Year on New Year’s Day. It still feels so unreal that she is really gone…
Today’s Workout: Legs & Back
- DB Hip Thrust 3 x 10
- DB High Step up 3 x 8
- DB Swing 3 x 20
- Side Plank Hip Raise 10

- 10 Reverse incline trap press
- 10 Cross body single-arm wide row
Super set | 3 x 10
- 10 Revers fly
- 10 Rotating bent over row
Burnout Complex | 2 sets
- 10 wide bicep curls
- 10 front bicep curls
- 10 hammer bicep curls
It was a great workout and I worked up a good sweat, but I was not able to lift as heavily as usual because my right wrist has been sore and I do not want to jeopardize my technique and risk further injury by lifting too heavy.
Today’s Word of the Day is:
brummagem– adjective
- Not genuine; spurious; also: cheaply, slowly, tawdry
This is the first time that I have ever heard of this word. It is nice to learn something new everyday!
I felt sad throughout the day, but am hanging in there and I am glad that I made time for my workout. I also made it a point to go outside for a walk. I thought that I would write a blog post about my friend, but I think the shock and loss is still too fresh…
I also feel sad about the fact that I do not have pictures with Kathy in my media collection here in this blog. I once had a prolific photo album in my last facebook (that got deleted) and back when Kathy and I were spending lots of time together, I never used to show pictures of myself or my friends on this blog.
It is okay though. Here memory will live on forever…
On another note, I had sushi for lunch (post workout) a broccoli cheddar bowl for a snack, and wings and pizza for dinner. It will just be a today thing. Tomorrow I will be back on track!
