Workout and Word of the Day #63

Hello My Dear Darling Friends!

I hope you are enjoying your weekend!  This morning we walked 2 laps around the lake for a total of 3 miles.  It was a beautiful day and there were lots of runners, walkers, and families out and about.

My mind has been a little preoccupied, but I am doing my best to stay present.  By this summer I will finally be done with my undergrad degree!  It has taken me a long time to get to this point and I am thrilled that it is so close!  The big question will be what happens next?…

What happens next?  For years my goal has been to do whatever it takes to earn my bachelor’s degree.  I worked multiple jobs and struggled for years.  I thought that I was going to take pre-requisites for something in the medical field, but I have ended up studying computers and technology instead.  And even though I am years into my studies I still feel like a beginner…

This is some food for thought…  I will continue to focus on my coursework then think about it more after graduation.

Today’s Workout is :Arms / Upper body

Apartment Friendly Warm-up:

I was going to do a gentle Zumba song to warm-up, but noticed that my right knee is sore again so I decided to do this warm-up instead.  Remember to listen to your body.  If you are in pain do not work through the pain.  Instead, modify or rest.

Complete Upper Body Workout w/out weights: 10 minutes

How to Achieve a long ballerina neck and arms: 15 minutes

Remember to be very gentle with your neck.  There are a few crunch exercises where it may be tempting to really crunch on your neck, but resist that urge and keep it nice and feathery and light.

7 Minutes to Fabulous Arms:

How to get great arms: 13 minutes

I enjoyed the exercises in these last 2 videos and am thrilled about the fact that I feel stronger.  I used to struggle with these exercises and it is fun to celebrate my progress.

Today’s Word of the Day is:

extemporize– verb

  1. Perform without preparation.
  2. Manage in a makeshift way; make do with whatever is at hand.

Thanks for joining me for another workout and word of the day!  Do you have fun plans for the weekend?  Please comment below to share!

    1. Congratulations on having a daughter-in-law in the near future. What an exciting time! I really enjoy Cassey’s energy and positive outlook plus she always has great workouts. I’m happy you are going to share this one 🙂 She just got married and she did a whole bridal bootcamp series leading up to the wedding.

  1. and a little tip – some folks say to “not” think of it after graduation – the time to plan is now – and maybe try to get internships because companies like still-in-school mode sometimes more than “graduated last year” mode – but it depends on where you are at and all of your needs too – 🙂

    1. Hello, I really appreciate how you take time to read my “Workout and Word of the Day” and also comment on my posts. I think that is a good idea to get an internship while I am still in school. Hope you are doing well.

      1. Hi – well I have to tell you that the timing just happens to be right right now – I happen to be online when your posts come out! and so in the future- when my schedule changes (and sadly it will) – well and if I am not dropping by – please be sure to come and leave a comment on my blog once in a while and i will remember to come and visit you – well if that happens – but it sometimes does – if that makes sense.
oh and the pleasure is mine because I have enjoyed your updates and new words –
        🙂
        peace
