It feels so good to be more active. Yesterday we went for a nice long walk around the Japanese garden. After that we got some veggies from the store and I cooked up a giant stir-fry with Portuguese sausage. I have been guilty of not eating enough vegetables and having a good wok is a great way to fix this.
A few hours after a late dinner I finally got around to working out. It was late, but I still wanted to get it in because it feels so good to take good care of myself. I have finally started to embrace the fact that I do not need to do a ton of workouts everyday. I just need to make the workouts that I do count.
Today’s Workout is Abs + Booty + Yoga
30 Minute Abs & Butt-toning Workout:
I love the fact that the only equipment you need is a mat. There were a lot of traditional exercises like planks and squats and a few twists on the classics. It has been awhile since I have done a core workout and it felt good to feel the burn!
Dancing Ab Workout (Lose Belly Fat) with Keaira LeShae
This workout stood out to me because I wanted to do some cardio and work my core. I also didn’t want to spend more than 23 minutes and this one fit the bill! I had a lot of fun. It was a little repetitive, but I think that is a good thing. I am going to add this one to my tool box of workout staples.
TRUE-Day 3- Stretch | Yoga with Adriene
This is my 3rd day in a row of practicing yoga and it feels good. I think this is the first time that I am not putting a lot of pressure on myself and it makes all the difference.
Today’s Word of the Day is:
pedantic– adjective
- Ostentatious in one’s learning.
- Overly concerned with minute details or formalisms, especially in teaching.
Exercise makes me feel passionate about my life. It brings me back to a time when I was disciplined and had a consistent routine. It also brings up memories and emotions. Yesterday as I did that dance workout with the mirror in the background I could feel the judgmental voice creeping up. Ain’t that a bi***?!?!
I felt strong during the first bodyweight workout and even admired my strength and my curves. When I started the dance workout I was critical of myself. It felt so good to dance, but I was not able to hiproll on the beat like I used to because I am a little out of practice. I love the fact that dance helped me to love my body and lose a lot of weight last fall. I just need to not be so hard on myself.
I was able to relax and let go with yoga and it felt so relaxing. I am so glad that I decided to workout even though it was late. This was actually last night’s workout so you might be hearing from me again!

Still taking care of my knee, so my workouts change. Glad you are getting back to it.
Hi Susie,
What happened to your knee? Thank you it feels good. I am amazed with how much of a difference it makes on my mood. I hope your knee will feel better soon.

It’s been almost a year now. Either arthritis, or bursitis. Doctor said it could be with me forever. I just switched my workouts, and that really helps.
I am glad that you were able to modify and find exercises that you can work with. I woke up with a little knee pain and took a few minutes do a couple of gentle exercises. I hope you are enjoying your day so far.

Always. No matter what life throws at me, I bounce back.
