Hello My Dear Darling Friends!
Lately I have been practicing yoga and following a pilates monthly calendar, but I have reached a point in my journey where I am ready to add in some strength training. I will not be doing the heavy lifting I was doing in the winter and spring back in Scottsdale since I only have 8lb and 10 lb weights, but at least it is something.
On that note, back when I was lifting heavy weights, it felt good, but I noticed that after awhile I had to back off on the weight because my wrists had not yet developed the strength to support the heavier weights. This time around my wrists are in much better condition. I think that my yoga practice and not over training has helped a lot.
I have decided to do Fitness Blender’s free 5-day workout challenge and yesterday was the day 1/5. This challenging is challenging. They started out with a warm-up then hiit followed by resistance training with dumbbells, and ending with pilates and yoga. It was a comprehensive workout and I sweated more than I have in a long time. You should join me!
Workout of the Day: Fitness Blender #1 + Yoga
Balancing Flow | Yoga with Adriene.
I was wiped out after that Fitness Blender workout. In fact, I was tired before I even started, but I wanted to do something good for my health so I powered through that workout and I felt so accomplished afterwards. I took a break to run errands then unrolled my yoga mat in the evening before dinner. This was a longer flow that felt really good after the challenging workout.
Word of the day:
- Composed, performed, or uttered on the spur of the moment: impromptu
- Happening suddenly and often unexpectedly and usually without clearly known causes or relationships.
I am not very well versed in being extemporaneous especially because it sounds a lot like improv. I have tried a few times and my mind went blank every time, but I do enjoy impromptu adventures. Some of my best memories happened because I decided to do something impromptu.
Right now, I am sipping on some matcha mate grapefruit green tea and am getting ready to start day #2 of the Fitness Blender challenge. I hope that you will join me! Comment below if you decide to give it a go! We can do anything for 5 days, right?!?!
