Workout and Word of the Day #6

Hello My Dear Darling Friends!

Yesterday was a nice rest day.  I am still learning how to rest on days off because sometimes they feel more stressful than actual workout days.  This is because I often feel like I am not doing enough.  I frequently feel like I am not making enough progress, but am learning how to trust the process.

Workout of the Day: Total Body Strength w/ no equipment

This was a fun and challenging workout!  They divided it into 5 parts: 1-warm-up, 2-lower body, 3-upper body, 4-abs, 5-cool-down.  I just love the fact that we do not repeat workouts throughout the week.  It is nice to have so much variety.  I also appreciate the fact that coach Claudia demonstrates the modifications and they both remind us that both forms of the exercises are challenging.

Word of the Day:

  1. A slight, unreal, or superficial likeness or semblance.
  2. An effigy, image, or representation.

This word is even more significant to me because one of my favorite Star Craft II maps is called the simulacrum.  It is nice to know what it means now.  Yesterday was Day #4 of my 100 days of code and I am finally starting to look forward to coding.  It feels good to finally be past the “procrastination/dread mode.”

After I post this workout and word of the day, I am going to play a game of Star Craft then start coding!  Yesterday evening I was really craving some creativity and I think I might start drawing soon.  There is so much I want to do.  My partner and I ordered a Molecular biology course that we are going to be working through together.  We are also almost done with roofing our A-Frame cabin.

What have you been up to lately?  Comment below to share!

❤ Alana
