Hello My Dear Darling Friends!
I told you I would be back shortly and here I am! I got caught up on work, cooked a giant veggie stir-fry for brunch, did some yard work, went for a nice walk, then finally got around to my workout.
Today’s Workout is: 45 Minute Home Hiit Workout
I enjoyed the fact that this entire workout utilized dumbbells. The dumbbells made it feel more like a strength training workout than a brutal hiit routine and I enjoyed that fact, but next time I am not going to do it the day after a brutal upper body workout. Lesson learned!
Word of the Day:
janus-particle– noun
- (nanotechnology, physics) A spherical microscopic particle which has hemispheres with sharply differing properties, such as one hydrophilic hemisphere and one hydrophobic hemisphere.
After my workout I cooked a batch of bone broth and then we ordered Thai food for dinner (because we forgot to get propane.) Today was the end of my Day #3/21 of my 21 Day Bone Broth nutrition plan and my best day was the 1st day. I kicked Day #1 off strongly with a bone broth fast (where I had 6 cups of bone broth throughout the day.) Sound extreme? There is also an option to add a plan-approved snack after 7 pm, but I opted to do the total fast.
The next day I felt really good, but I do have to say that you probably don’t want to be out in public 1st thing in the morning. I felt fairly grumpy, but it is to be expected. I have given up alcohol, refined, sugar, dairy, and flour (with the exception of last night when my partner made us 1 healthy buttermilk pancake with manuka honey.) I wasn’t going to do it from fear of “messing up,” but I was touched and decided to partake. It was so thoughtful of him to think of me and he told me I didn’t have to feel obligated to eat it, but it was a memory that I wanted so I did.
It seems like I have made at least 1 exception since Day 1. Today’s exception was ordering the Thai food, but I did order Fish and veggies which is healthy and part of the approved foods. The only thing is that I do not know exactly what ingredients they used. In the past, I probably would have beat myself up over it and made myself start over from Day #1, but I want to take a healthier, more sustainable approach this time around. I am going to strictly adhere to my 2 bone broth fast days a week and I am not going to break the refined sugar or alcohol rule. I know that the closer I adhere to the guidelines the better my results will hopefully be, but I am also not going to shame myself if I have a slip up here or there.
I better start winding down and getting ready for bed. Sweet dreams and I will see you tomorrow!

I have done that workout twice, and love it. I eat more now, but my muscles are bigger, punching harder, and lifting more. I need the food for fuel. Lucky me.
Hi Susie!
Yes, this is one of my favorite workouts too! I am so happy to hear that you are growing stronger, and just overall becoming a better version of yourself. I listened to a really good podcast featuring Dr. Gabrielle Lyon and she talked about how a lot of people experience the negative effects of aging early because they do not get enough protein and lack proper nutrients.
Thank you for sharing your progress with me! Always a joy to hear from you!
