Workout and Word of the Day #13

Hello My Dear Darling Friends!

I have been feeling tightly wound and very emotional these past few days.  I think it has had a lot to do with the big lifestyle changes I have been making lately.  Over these last 5 days I have stopped drinking alcohol, stopped eating refined sugar, cut out dairy, and have successfully made it through 2 full bone broth fast days.  Not to mention, I have been drinking my coffee black without any sweetener (this is huge for me.)  All of these changes are equally challenging to me and not so long ago just picking 1 change out of this list would have felt like pulling teeth.  But here I am making those BIG, BOLD changes and sticking with them!

When the emotions come I feel them and when I feel like crying I let the tears come even if I don’t know where they are coming from.  It really feels good to take responsibility for my life and well-being like this.

Workout of the Day: Hiit & Yoga

20 Minute Hiit Tabata with weights:

This workout may be short, but don’t be fooled!  It is impressively challenging.  I was dripping with sweat and out of breath the entire time and when I finally finished the workout I felt so accomplished!

Yoga For Healing:

I enjoyed this practice.  She included a nice variety, but I do want to remind you to listen to your body.  Some of the shapes feel a little more advanced like the full camel and the plough rockers towards the end.  Never hesitate to modify movements if your body is asking for it.

Word of the Day:

ephemeral– adjective

  1. Lasting a very short time; short lived; transitory.
  2. Lasting but one day.

This was one of those words that I thought I knew the meaning of, but I clearly didn’t.  I’m so glad that I decided to look it up!  Now I can use the word appropriately.

I just remembered another bold change that I made this week.  I am in the middle of a vacation from social media and this is a big deal for me because I used to live on social media.  It helped me feel connected to my friends and family.  I noticed that I was spending more time there than in real life and spending time away has helped me to live more in the present moment.  I’m diggin’ it so far!

Thanks for joining me for another workout and words of the day plus a mini catch up session.  What have you been up to lately and have you ever taken a break from social media?

    1. Thank you Susie! I am definitely trying my best. Sometimes it is easy to get discouraged, but I will keep going. 1 hour of zumba is a great workout! I hope you will have a wonderful weekend.

      1. Great job! Yesterday was my rest day, but I spent lots of time outside weeding and doing some yardwork while the cats played. It was nice to get some fresh air and see the progress in the yard. Hope you are having a lovely day today!

      2. 2 hours treadmill, up to 15 incline 3 times. Watched 3 F.A. Cup matches. Did more clearing out of last year’s paperwork, cooked dinner, and am watching Britbox now.
