I wanted to do something special to remember this 02/02/2020 palindrome day so I got myself a guitar.
I have been aching to play an instrument lately and I was hoping to pick up something I have never played before like the harp or the cello. I almost bought a cello twice since landing on the island, but both sellers ended up ghosting me and I decided that it probably wasn’t meant to be.
I would love to get a piano or even a keyboard, but I haven’t found the right one yet. I was pleasantly surprised to see this classical guitar for sale on the facebook market. I reached out to the lady and she said that she was on her way back to Kona from a festival on this side of the island. The timing worked out and I was able to buy the guitar from her.
I am thrilled to have a musical instrument to learn. I was a little bummed and felt a little foolish because once I looked at the guitar more closely at home I realized that a few of the tuning pegs have cracks in them. Luckily, the guitar still sounds beautiful and holds its tone. I also think that if I need to restring it in the future we will find a way to repair it… Lesson learned. I really have no regrets because she is a beauty ❤
I haven’t picked up a guitar and played since I was about 12 or 13. It was never my primary instrument, but I did take a few Classical guitar lessons. To my surprise I still remember how to play an entire song from memory!
I don’t know what I’m doing, but I am looking forward to learning. Wish me luck!
