Workout and Word of the Day #22

Hello My Dear Darling Friends!

Have you ever noticed that even when you get stronger push-ups still feel hard (maybe even harder than before?) I could have sworn that in June of 2018 I was nearly 200 lbs and I was doing 100 full push-ups a day.  Just yesterday, it was a struggle for me to do 20 full push-ups and after that I had to move to my knees.  This could be because back then, in 2018, that was the only workout I was doing so my muscles were not depleted and I was determined to do something.  Yesterday, I attempted those push-ups at the very end of my chest workout so by then my muscles were tired.

No matter where you are on your journey just keep going!  There are so many factors that affect our performance and sometimes it is easy to get discouraged.  Do not fall into that trap and give up.  Take some deep breaths, celebrate your progress, and keep moving forward!

Workout of the Day: Chest + Yoga

“Can’t Stop the Feeling” Commit Choreo:

I miss dancing so I have been making a point to do more of it.  This is one of my favorite “Commit Dance Fitness” choreos.  Enjoy!

Cardio Abs for Beginners:

This was a great core workout and I like how she alternated the exercises with compound cardio movements like squats.  It got my heart pumping and I could feel the heat in my core.

30 Minute Chest & Triceps Workout for Muscle Building:

This strength training workout was challenging and fun!  I got to start using my new 15 lb dumbbells.  I do not have a bench or a stability ball yet so I did all the exercises on the floor and still got a great workout.  You can always work with what you got!

Wind Down Yoga | Yoga with Adriene:

Once again, this was EXACTLY what I needed ❤

Word of the Day:

branzino– noun

  1. A silvery sea bass found in the eastern Atlantic, the Mediterranean Sea, and the Black Sea.

Have you ever wondered where I find my words?  I used to simply look up “word of the day” on google then last year one of my fellow blogging friends said that she thought I found the words on my own.  I realized that she had a point and I decided to start finding the words on my own.  I read books and anytime I come across a word I do not know the definition of; I add it to my list.  It has been a lot of fun to feature a wide array of words.

Do you have fun plans for the weekend?  I am planning on making another batch of bone broth at some point then deep cleaning our house since we are expecting a guest this next week.  I hope you will have a wonderful weekend!

❤ Alana
