Hello My Dear Darling Friends!
Last week was all sorts of stressful and that hectic / draining energy carried into this past week too. Last Sunday we took a mini road trip down to Ocean View, Hawaii and it was a nice little getaway. We even drove through Naalehu which is the town where my Grandma was born. On Monday we got a new rain catchment cover and it felt great to get rid of the old one.
We were a little bummed to see that someone went off-roading and chewed up the driveway. This enlarged the rain puddle so we put some rocks down to mark the lanes. Thankfully, today we were able to get some red cinder gravel to fill in the gaps and hopefully soon the grass will grow around those rocks and repair the driveway.

I know it might seem little, but we are doing our best to maintain the beauty of our property and it feels disrespectful when things like this happen. I’m glad that we were able to solve the issue. I got a sore throat on Tuesday and have been very energetically drained lately.
On a more positive note, things are looking up! I am so glad that my focus for the month of March is to “find peace.” I remind myself multiple times throughout the day to be peaceful and it is helping. I also started meditating in the morning (sometimes I only get 3 minutes and most days I get 5 minutes) I know it’s not a lot, but it is something. I have also started practicing morning yoga and it is making all the difference!
My boyfriend and I have been spending much more time in the garden. We planted squash seeds and 3 days later they started sprouting. We have also been adding soil and manure throughout the property. I feel so blessed to be here everyday.

Getting back into a good workout routine has really helped me to feel more grounded. Last week I talked about how I switched workout programs and it was a good change for me. I discovered that the workouts I was doing were not challenging enough and I started to take a coasting mentality. It feels good to really push and challenge myself once again.
My energy felt less frantic, but it was drained from feeling sick. I guess I can think of it as a little retreat. Even my instagram was dragging and would not let me post new pics or stories. I guess it was a sign to simply slow down, enjoy the moment, and worry less about what others think.
Life has a lovely way of working things out. Our Maine house finally has occupants. A very sweet couple has decided to do an owner financing deal with us and they just arrived in their new home this weekend! It feels good to know that that beautiful Maine house is now a happy home to a family. They are happy with it and I am so glad that it all worked out for the best!
Yesterday, our renters told us that they got an approval for a house and would hopefully be done closing by the end of April. This is perfect timing. I am glad that we had this time with them and I bet they are excited to have their own place. The back house is gorgeous with the very best views from every angle. It also has excellent airflow, a larger bathroom, a bathtub, and amazing under the house space. We are thinking about moving into that back house for a change of scenery.
Things were very stressful for a few weeks, but I am feeling much better now and am thankful that many weights have been lifted. I have also started running reports again after all of the upgrades and things are working so well!
MARCH: FIND PEACE
“Peace is the result of retraining your mind to process life as it is, rather than as you think it should be.”
-Wayne W. Dyer
- Breathe deeply. I have been starting my day with meditation and deep breathing.
- Garden. Yes! I finally got to plant a bunch of fragrant flowers. I am going to spend some time in the garden after I finish this post!
- Practice yoga everyday. Yes, I have added it to my morning ritual and it is life-changing.
- Replace negative thoughts with positive ones. I am getting better at this. The negativity was strong for a while, but I am replacing those negative thoughts with positive ones.
- Tidy everyday. Yes!
I am liking March so far and am looking forward to see what happens next. I’m not gonna lie, the coronavirus thing is stressful. My sister sent me a very sweet and heartfelt message, but I didn’t like when she said, “if this outbreak gets out of control and I never see you again…” I hope this thing goes on its way and that our loved ones will make it through too. Remember to wash your hands, my friends!

Well, it is time for me to spend a few hours gardening in the sunshine! I hope you will have a wonderful week!

It seems like you’re doing really well at making March your month of peace – I love a bit of gardening too, it brings out the patience in me 🙂
I definitely needed to focus on stressing less. Thank goodness February was a shorter month. 🙂
Sometimes it’s difficult because I can get stressed about stressing!
Yes, me too and that often causes more stress than the actual stress itself.
I agree – it just becomes a vicious cycle 😅
