Hello My Dear Darling Friends!
I feel a little guilty because it has been a long time since I last posted a workout and word of the day. This seems like the best time to share these posts with gyms being closed and everyone staying home. I guess I just needed to recover and spend more time outside.
I have also been nursing an injury. I’m not sure what I did, but for the past 10 days my right arm and hand was feeling numb. It was the worst at night and I was starting to feel concerned because I would wake up in the middle of the night with pins and needles. Yesterday I started foam rolling in the morning and practicing yoga and last night was better than it has been in a long time. I can tell that I am still not back to 100%, but I am hoping that I will continue to heal and hopefully be back to normal soon. Usually, I would go see a doctor, but I would rather wait since we are in the midst of a lockdown.
Yesterday was significant because it was the first day in probably over a month that I felt motivated to lift heavy weights. I also loved the fact that I had energy to get through my workout because lately I have been feeling kind of drained.
Workout of the Day: Leg Day!
Day 1 of the 21 Day Home Workout Challenge:
Vicky Justiz is doing a 21 day Quarantine home workout challenge and I figured that I would give it a shot! You can do it too!
I started my day with a quick cold shower and a cup of black, unsweetened coffee then did that above workout. After that, my partner and I went for a nice long walk. From there I went on with the rest of my day. After dinner, I felt energized and decided to do a more “serious workout.”
Warm-up Routine | Glute Activation + Hip Openers:
I am so glad that I found Heather’s channel. I loved her music and her style! It was a great warm-up for the upcoming workout!
Brutal Butt & Thigh Workout | Drop it like a squat!
I loved this workout and felt strong and powerful the entire time!
Word of the Day:
cairn– noun
- A heap of stones piled up as a memorial or as a landmark.
I especially enjoy this word since I have been doing a lot of landscaping and gardening. Gardening is such a fun and functional workout too! Overall, I feel so thankful to be re-inspired to get after my fitness goals.
Lately, I have been feeling unmotivated and uninspired. I did an 8 week workout program back in November and didn’t skip a beat! Then I started a 90 day workout plan, but in mid-February we had family visit us for almost a week and I just never got back on track. I reattempted to do another program and stuck with it well for a week, but then 10 days ago my arm / hand started going numb and I decided to rest.
My body probably needed the rest and honestly, I think I just needed more variety. I think I am going to create my own workout plan / structure for awhile and then down the road I will pick up a program once again. I like designating leg day, push day, pull day, and hinge day. From there I plug in the workouts and exercises that fit into that structure. It takes more leg work on my part, but I did it a year ago when I was in Scottsdale, Arizona and it worked well for me. I am starting to realize that it is even more important for me to have variety in my workouts since I am doing all home workouts.

How are you doing and what is new and exciting in your world?
❤ Alana
